Doesn’t he have an FIP and xFIP in the 4+ range? I remember reading he’s being buoyed by an unsustainable LOB% like 15% over his career average
Look at his WAR and the next guy in line. Give or take some analytics he is undeniably the best pitcher in the AL at least this year at the moment.

That isn't getting a huge haul from anyone, who has any common sense.
I don’t expect us to trade him unless we go off the deep end to begin with.

He's worth a lot more to Rangers than he is on the trade market.
You can post all the stat, nerd numbers you want, he's a 31 year old pitcher who's having a good year off of a average one. He's not a top starter, stop it.

Lol I mean the stats say he is right there with Verlander in the American League but okay.

Bumgarner would fit in nicely as Houston’s #3 starter. ETA: but the Braves may need him worse..
He has a full no-trade clause. Doubtful he comes to an AL team since he loves to bat (and does fairly well at it).
And since he's from North Carolina, Braves aren't out of the question.

Lmao no he doesn’t

If bum blocks a trade to an al team because he can’t bat

No one is over paying for a 31 year old, who's had a good season. last year was average to mediocre, then a decent one before. That isn't getting a huge haul from anyone, who has any common sense.
It’s a little outlandish to suggest that no team has ever overpaid for a 27-28+ year old dominant pitcher at the deadline, while being deep into a title hunt.
hell, even the rangers have done it. see Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee etc etc. even Matt Garza, Ryan Dempster. although they weren’t exactly dominant prior to the trade, nor after
the fact that he’s controllable for another year at 9.5 mil is kind of rare. makes the situation somewhat unique

He has an 8 team no trade clause, but yes it does include Houston and Atlanta both.

I don’t think that means he won’t go to those teams, he just picked the 8 most likely playoff teams so he could go on his own terms

Matt Garza, Ryan Dempster.

Correct, they are on his no trade list for leverage.

Not sure how any Dodger fan can think Jansen is fine. The Dodgers are my team but I am objective enough to know Kershaw and Jansen will again be the weak links to a World Series win. Both have a history of giving up bombs in the biggest moments and this year they both seem to to be slipping from what I have seen. Ideally we would get Vazquez or Smith, but it doesn't sound like Ruiz plus other minor league guys is enough for the Pirates and who knows if the Giants will even answer Freidman's calls.

Lol it cracks me up how every player mentioned in here has been nitpicked to death about how they actually suck and aren’t good at all despite the numbers saying otherwise.

The Rangers need to sell. Team isn’t that good and playoffs are a pipe dream

They can reset and move everybody back next year but I think everybody in the NL central should put their 40 man rosters on slips of paper in a hat and everybody just pick 40 randomly. Figure out some way to balance out positions, maybe 3 hats for IF/OF/P.

The Tigers’ asking price on lefty Matthew Boydcontinues to be an impediment for interested teams, Jon Heyman of the MLB Network reported this week on the Big Time Baseball podcast. Heyman notes that multiple GMs from other clubs used the phrase “over the top” when describing Detroit’s ask on Boyd,

Rangers beat Boyd when we faced him last week but he was cruising for awhile. Dude has great stuff.
