Players looking at FA and getting their money now. Of course when the strike happens and contracts start to favor the players again they will regret some. They do have security now

Sale 5 year 145 million extension
Verlander about to sign a two-year extension
Cole in talks for an extension

At this rate, they won't have anyone in Free Agency

This was debunked on Twitter, by Bauer himself. He called out the writer of that piece. LINK

Mets finally lock up deGrom....5 years 137.5M

LINK

The deal, pending a physical, was completed two days before deGrom was planning to shut down talks once the regular season starts Thursday. DeGrom will have a full no-trade clause and can opt out of the deal in 2022, while the Mets have a club option for $32.5 million in 2024.

Who wins the NL East?

My money is on the Phillies, but going to be some really tough competition minus the Marlins

I still think the Nats are the favorite. Should be a fun division though and any of those 4 could win it and it wouldn’t be surprising at all.

The NL WC spots should be a cluster too

I think the Mets can make some noise, maybe not win the division but definitely contend for the wild card. They had a decent team last year and have only improved on it this year.
They are the Mets so we all know at some point there will be injuries. They added some good pieces to provide ML depth instead of the minor league depth we have had lately.
Outside of the month of June (5-21 record) they had a 72-64 record the rest of the season, if they can avoid bad injuries and falling off the cliff for a extended period of time, they can compete.
