And I thought Liberals were useless nowadays..

This Phanatic wants to smooch Cali and their high state tax..

For bringing Bryce back to NL East.

Can’t lie

I like the team Philly has put together, but also feel like Harper is one of those guys similar to A-Rod when it comes to winning championships

Guess time will tell

Ironically, Arod was clutch in October once in his career.against my Phils in 2009 World Series.

You actually think that tax reasoning was real and that he didn't chose the phillies because they were still paying hin more regardless and because the phillies arent about to enter into a complete and total 5 year if not more bare minimum rebuild like the giants?

Of course not, he wants to win now, not wait on Giants rebuild, I knew that.

Then again, every little bit of angle, can only help.

But, do think if Dodgers high AAV short length deal would've went a bit further than the 200M at 40M+ per yr..

I think he'd been a Dodger.

There was no way he was coming to LA unless the Dodgers offered at the bare minimum a 10 year deal. And after seeing philly offer 13, they probably needed to get over 10 years

You dont turn down 45 million per year unless you are dead set on getting your decade plus long contract

You don't think that if he could make 230 or 240 of his 330 in half the length, that he wouldn't gamble on himself at age 32 in an latter inflated marketplace?

He keeps fit, albeit gets hurt, misses games, and can at times have marginal fielding.

The Dodgers wouldnt offer someone 60 million a year

45 is ridiculous enough as it is

And I still dont think he would have taken that

I didnt intend 60M yrs, but rather say a 6 yr deal at 40ish per.

The single largest contract this front office has given out is 5 years

They werent going to go more than 5 and they probably werent going to do that

And I think Harper would have turned that down anyway

True, it's been the Dodger way, and works for them.

But, all things being equal, I think he's a Dodger..

Thank God it wasn't the case.

A-Rod was just the first to pop in my head, but I’m essentially referring to any player that eats a disproportionate amount of a team’s budget for an extended period of time.

It obviously limits what the front office can do, and places a lot of the team’s success at risk due to the health of an individual player, not to mention team chemistry.

Hopefully the braves are saving their pennies. In 6 years Acuna might be asking for 400 million.

After a brief introduction, Harper donned his No. 3 Phillies jersey for the first time as an official member of the organization.
"I'm very proud, very happy to put this uniform on for the first time," Harper said. "I can’t wait to get on that field and do Philly nation proud.” The 26-year-old star outfielder wore No. 34 as a member of the Washington Nationals but explained on Saturday that he'll wear No. 3 in Philadelphia out of respect for Hall of Famer Roy Halladay.
