During a game at Southwest Community College in Summitt, MS, between Madison Ridgeland Academy (MS) and Silliman Institute (LA), an umpire quits mid game. While he’s walking off the field he says “I got 6 kids at home and don’t need this”.

But considering in the other umpire thread, some posters are saying the batter should have taken the bat to the umpire's head... I kind of get it.
Umpires are tired of taking abuse. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

Don't take it personal and just run the 3rd base coach for arguing balls/strikes and demanding he check with the first base ump. It was plain as day it was a strike as the batter stabbed at the pitch trying to bunt.
Same thing for the ump in the other video. Instead of taking shite and making yourself look like an idiot, run the kid after strike 2 for arguing (even though it was a God awful call). Instead, he gets his 15 minutes of cancellation fame by making it about him and making a pre-meditated decision to call the next pitch a strike no matter where the hell it was.

Lol. The Silliman HC is a pretty laid back guy and looked to be just asking a question about the check swing and the imp asking for help. Context would help too, but man that guy was looking for a reason.

Alabama has been dealing with umpires demanding more money. I can't imagine that the umpire profession is one where the pay has kept up with inflation.

In what state do high school umps only make $50? I find that hard to believe that any state pays that little.
