Yea this board loves Gundy for some reason. He’s mid.

Thought the programs couldn’t pay NIL? It’s all a bunch of BS

There's absolutely no justification for a "for cause" firing. Anyone who even raises that possibility is a joke.

would say he's a top 10 coach strictly from an on-field perspective.
Based on what?

How different would his career & legacy be had Quinn Sharp’s final FG at Iowa State in 2011 been ruled good?
Les Miles might still be the coach at LSU

They are supposedly going to fire him for cause... no idea what that cause is

he will get all of that contract, if terminated

ow would Gundy's "disgruntled with NIL" factor change just from hopping from OSU to UNC?
Think Gundy is a pretty good coach. His store style would be something ACC would have to adjust to
There's more talent to pull at UNC and should only need to beat 3 teams ( which actually may be more than the "big 12")

I'm in the camp that thinks Gundy is a pretty damn good coach but he's probably hit his ceiling at Garth Brooks U.
Like others have mentioned, give him the resources of UNC and he'll compete for ACC titles yearly.

Here are some of the longest active bowl streaks in college football:
Georgia: 27 games
Oklahoma: 25 games
Wisconsin: 22 games
Alabama: 20 games
Clemson: 19 games
Oklahoma State: 18 games
This streak will end this year. But Gundy has done more with less than probably anyone in college football. Now it’s often his fault he had less.
In 20 seasons he had a losing record in his first, and likely last season.
Won 9 or more games in 10 seasons.

He’s no Bill Snyder, but he’s in the same ballpark.

He's disgruntled with the current state of college football.
He's just disgruntled now because T Boone Pickens isn't around to throw money around.

I’ll just repost this
This guy has won the big 12 once and finished the season ranked in the top 10 like 2x over the last 15+ years?

What did the program do before he got there?

In the CFP era:
Top 10 in wins
Top 10 in wins vs Top 25
Top 10 in weeks ranked in the Top 25
He coached them to EIGHT10-win seasons. Something, before Gundy, OSU had only done 3-times in its history
Repeat, they had 3 ever seasons with at least 10 wins before he took over

They should bring back the coaches film room
Posted on 12/6/24 at 8:19 pm to Diseasefreeforall
Goofy dude, but I hope he takes them for every last cent. That's bullshite to do that to a coach that's been that good to that place.

If he’s gone where does 8th year Senior QB Alan Bowman go?

Posted on 12/6/24 at 8:25 pm to Diseasefreeforall
They may be thinking it better to grab a current coordinator on the cheap, put money into players and hope for the best.
