UNC should make a play for him. He had done more for less than most coaches.

Gundy is one of the best coaches in the country. He's disgruntled with the current state of college football

When you say one of the best… you mean like top 25?

I was always surprised he never got an offer from a big time school - what he's done with OSU is remarkable and if they're dumb enough to fire him they'll sink and stay in the cellar.

They returned 20 starters, 10 on offense 10 on defense and went 3-9 with 2 FBS wins and 0-9 in the BIG 12. They were supposed to win the conference.

Ended the year with the worst loss under Gundy 52-0.

Hard to survive that at a P5.

How different would his career & legacy be had Quinn Sharp’s final FG at Iowa State in 2011 been ruled good?
LSU rolls them in the Sugar Bowl and everything stays the same...

that missed fg or missed call cost him a runner up finish.

Les would have had his second title

Good point.

But the FG was never good. It went over the top of the upright.

Here's a new contract still worth millions if you don't take it we will fire you for cause. I would love to see how their lawyers defend that.

Maybe. But without Gundy that program is literally below .500 and he has been there 20 years.

He deserves better than a weak threat from a program that was basically nothing before he got there.

I'm talking strictly X's and O's. He's not a great recruiter or program manager.

His on-field coaching has overcome a lot of program problems.

I would say he's a top 10 coach strictly from an on-field perspective.

you'll have to think hard to come up with ten active coaches that are better.
This past season doesn't help though

Never really cared for Gundy, but hard to argue that he's a good coach.

Still very much enjoyed the look on his face and silence when Tua threw the 2nd and 26 to D. Smith. He was not happy.

But I was told by many on here that coaches salary doesn’t impact NIL money.

Brought this up about BK’s contract and all the college financial wizards came out saying his contract had nothing to do with what LSU could offer players.

How would Gundy's "disgruntled with NIL" factor change just from hopping from OSU to UNC?

They weren’t beating 2011 LSU or Bama and that was 13 years ago so I’d say not that much.

Coaches get fired 2-3 years after NCs now.

This guy has won the big 12 once and finished the season ranked in the top 10 like 2x over the last 15+ years?

He’s not a top 10 HC in college football.
