If Michigan wasn’t the best team in the field, who was?
This game really didn’t show it, but the first 5 rounds showed it enough.

Finally a non-blue blood program wins it

Worth noting…
UConn's foul disparity across the season was larger than almost any other major conference team. Over the course of the season, Michigan was 18th in the nation in opponent free-throw rate. UConn was down in 303rd.
Throughout this season, UConn has battled one of the widest gaps between free throws attempted and free throws allowed of any team in college basketball, potentially lending some credibility to Hurley's frustrations.
According to KenPom, the average ratio between free-throw attempts and field goals is 35.1:100. The UConn offense attempts just three free throws per every 10 field goals taken by the Huskies, which ranks No. 311 out of 365 Division I teams this season.
Meanwhile, UConn's opponents are attempting 40.2 free throws per 100 field goal tries — that ranks No. 301.

Exactly. This team was a wagon most of the year. Duke could have beat us in the tournament, but that was about it. UCONN did a great job of making it a street fight.

You come across as a dumbass

If Mara and Morez come back to Michigan I think they go back to back. Their core reminds me of 2006-07 Florida back to back where the front line dominates and they got enough perimeter pieces to keep teams honest.
Yaxel reminds me of Dennis Rodman the way he talks in his interviews. He will be a popular NBA player

Dan Hurley is only 53? Would have guessed older. He could coach another 15 years if he wanted to

They are pretty blue blooded.

I'm a mild Big Ten homer. Very satisfying to see an OG conference member bring home a basketball natty after watching several other teams blow it on this stage over the last 25 years (and Queen Cait on the women's side).
I don't count UCLA yet.
Grats Wolverines.

This is just their 3rd final four in 33 years. They had one national title before this.
They’ve only won the big ten regular season crown 7x in 50 years.
Not a blue blood.

Michigan as a program is a blue blood.

Nah, he’ll Woody Hayes a player or ref before too long.

Having a blue blood football program and big time AD doesn’t make you a hoops blue blood. Michigan is a solid program that has made strong runs in their history, but they’re not a blue blood.

If Michigan is a basketball blue blood I don't want to hear another word about LSU football not being one

I have seen more Michigan commercials than any basketball program this year.

Their athletic program as a whole would be considered royalty and it’s one of the most prestigious public universities
