I have watched both teams all season and this is the worst I've seen Washington play on offense and defense. That OL couldn't hold up, and Penix played scared because of it. Dude was off all game. He was not on his game at all.

Defensively, no power 5 team has allowed Michigan to run that effectively all year. Corum and his backup had combined for 1500 yards on 350 carries in 14 games. That's 4.3 ypc, IN COLLEGE. They just scored a lot of TDs on short fields.

TBH Michigan's offense didn't look like they wanted it that much either after the 1st quarter.

It was a disappointing game because I don't think Washington plays that poorly again if they played Michigan 10 times.

Michigan's D is legit, but Washington kept derping away big opportunities.

Not a big fan of saying another team wanted it more. If you get to this point both teams want it really bad. Michigan was just the better more physical team baw.

If you can’t run the ball against that Michigan defense you have no shot. They’re gonna sit back in zone and keep everything in front. Then come up and lay the wood.

Just a fantastic college defense.

I’m not sure anyone actually won that game. It was pitiful offense by both teams. Penix just took a bigger dump on the bed.

the way he looked tonight that is not a good visual

Just looked awful throwing with his legs spread apart and he just looked terrible. Definitely going to hurt his draft stock and the injury history wont help either.

Yeah. His game might finally take the choke title away from us.

I don’t know if they were the better team that’s why I dislike games like that. Was still within a TD going into the 4th with many many opportunities missed and it really could have been a whole other game if some of those things happened.
Oh well, Fuk Michigan

How can any team not want a National Championship?

Washington didn't show up, and a lot of that had to do with Penix.

The players are going to wonder what happened when they wake up today. It was like they just didn't swing the bat when they were at the plate.

It looked like a program that wasn't ready for the stage. And, without Penix making everyone believe, there really wasn't anything else.

Penix was rushing his throws alot in the game and it looked like he and the receiving core didn't get on the same page. They could barely get streaky.

Don't you think that the "they wanted it more" sports cliche is wore out? An excellent offense got thrown off their game by an excellent Michigan defense. Try out the "the better team won today" trope instead. Plus Michigan's offense took advantage of more opportunities. It was a decent game overall. Congratulations to the Wolverines.

Here I thought it was because they dominated the LOS when in reality they just wanted it more.

Penix was off all night. Major disappointment. If he had the game that he did in the semifinal, I think either Washington wins this game, or it goes down to the very end.

The plays were there for Washington to win. They had open receivers all night, and when Penix did see them he threw it 5 feet over their heads.

As a Husky fan I’m disappointed, but Michigan was prepared and had the edge in coaching. Penix made some bad throws.

Penix choked, plain and simple. He missed multiple wide open receivers. A lot of that was due to the pressure Michigan’s DL put on him, but he put up his worst start of the season on the biggest stage.

Michigan being better than them on both lines of scrimmage explains everything you saw last night. That wasn't a fluke or one team "wanting it more". That was a bad matchup.

The Michigan pass rush sped Penix up all night and he wasn't able to get in rhythm. He only got sacked once but they were in the backfield all night. Washington's offensive tackles got smoked on seemingly every snap.
