Media suggests that Christian players are the bad guys for not supporting Pride Night

You are to bend the knee and celebrate them because their feelings are more important than your beliefs.
The alphabet people have been placed on a social pedestal that keeps expanding. Straight people have been goaded into supporting this for decades now. It’s not enough to let them live their lives as they choose. You are to celebrate them at every opportunity, no matter if your personal beliefs agree with that or not.
Would the media respond in the same way if there was a Christian Night with a crucifix on the cap, and some players chose not to wear it or put messages supporting their own beliefs on it? You know the answer.
It’s never enough and it NEVER will be. Landon Roupp and a few other players (in other sports as well) have recognized that and are finally giving a little pushback.

quote:
several Giants players responded to Pride Night on Friday by writing Bible verses on their caps. Landen Roupp started the game with “Gen 9:12-16” scrawled on it, the end of the verse bleeding into the actual SF part of the hat. JT Brubaker included “Gen 9:13-15” as one of the largest on-cap messages I’ve ever seen, and Ryan Walker returned from the minors with a smaller version on the side of his hat. Sam Hentges refused to wear the Pride Night hat at all, opting for the Giants’ standard black cap with orange letters.
quote:
The verse details God’s covenant with humanity after the great flood, as Noah is told that the rainbow will be a symbol of the covenant. By choosing this verse as a response to the rainbow colors of the pride hat, the message appeared to be: Don’t forget what the rainbow is really about.
quote:
this was another tone-deaf response to what should have been a moment for community unity. They made the night about “us versus them.” That’s the only thing they could see.
quote:
After the game, Roupp told reporters, “I’m thankful we live in a country where, you know, we have the freedom to believe what we want … and express what we want.” I’m also thankful for this, and I’m using that same freedom to suggest that he’s only scratching the surface of what he’s purporting to believe in. Dig deeper, my dude. Dig a lot deeper. There’s a way to help people navigate this life with the respect and grace they deserve. It is a choice to ignore that on a night dedicated to people who need others on their side. Do better. That’s the only thing we’re all supposed to do around here, anyway. Do better.

coming from the side that is forcing everyone else to mandatorily comply with doing what they want just for meaningless likes with absolutely nothing accomplished.
It's ALMOST incomprehensible that some people can be so blind to actual reality and get it 100% backwards from how things actually are.

frick this bullshite. Don't push this shite on people that don't believe in it. Personally I have no problem with gay people but if I don't not want to wear your LGBT shite then frick off. I am an American and that is my choice. End of story

I always wondered how this would go… if a team had a ‘Christian Night’ and the players had to have all the Christian insignia on hats and jerseys and sleeves, etc…
How do yall think that would go over?

I see people’s willingness to submit eroding quickly.

I like how these people are crying about the few players who didn’t wear the hats rather than being happy about every other player, coach, and thousands of attendees going along with it. Sorry bro. Not everyone will agree with you. Grow up
I imagine forced "support" is worth nothing when compared to genuine support beyond trying to have control over others, so all of the backlash to try to get them to wear it seems pointless to me.

That the organization putting on that night was being homophobic and insensitive.

Any time someone uses this in an argument I immediately know I should ignore their opinion.

If a Muslim player opted not to wear a pin, flag or whatever…crickets.

Tolerance is the final virtue of a decadent society. Tolerance without truth is like a compassionate doctor with no labels on his medicines and no regard for the effect they may have on his patients. The enemy rarely tempts people with evil that looks like evil. Usually they come disguised as virtues. He repackages compromise as tolerance, conformity as inclusiveness, and abandonment of discernment as love. Discernment alongside mercy and love is something we must have.

Wonder if there are enough Christian players to start their own league?

My grandfather was a lifelong Tigers fan, enjoyed his retirement days with a cold beer and peanuts in his lounge chair in front of the game.
I am glad he passed away the year before the big "Pride Night" spectacle in the name of "gender-affirming care for youths." That is a fancy way of saying chopping the ding-dongs off of boys. It would have been damaging to his soul simply to absorb that stuff.
It turned out that the slippery slope was very real, and in less than ten years, it went from "love wins" to the proceeds from your ticket sale at every major sporting event funding the slicing off of boys' wee-wees.

Lol is this where we pretend American Christians are a persecuted minority?
ETA: Christians aren’t being denied government benefits due to their beliefs like they’d like to deny them to the LGBTQ community.

This is legitimately the first time I’ve heard anything about that in my life.
Nobody said minority, but being made to look like a bad person because you stand on your faith is persecution, no matter how minor.

whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
gays friendly means world friendly means enemy of God
