I don't have a problem with NIL and players getting their share for the revenue they are generating in collegiate athletics but only for the sports that bring in that revenue and it should be allocated accordingly

The one thing that has to change is the portal and you have to get some kind of commitment for the $ they are getting, it can't be for only one year at a time

This is not even a sustainable professional model

These are my feelings, also.

Also, I'm never going to root as hard against a player as I am Bryce Underwood. I hope he busts so hard and that he is a prime example of why you should never give a high school kid 10 million dollars before he ever plays a snap in college. If he busts I feel like it'll be a slight teaching lesson for teams forking out that much money before seeing any results.

The entire world should be doing this. Except for Michigan fans of curse.

I barely know any of the players names because why bother. They are usually on the team 1 or 2 years tops.

This incessant transfer free agency crap is the worst thing of many bad things in college football right now

If they could write NIL contracts where you have to commit for 2-3 years it would reduce portals. Problem os schools can’t do this collectively as that would be shot down. It would need to be each school independently deciding to do it. But then that school might not get players as they could go to schools without this.

There is no fix unless they stop the transferring. Thats the only fix. Portal season is bigger than signing day nowadays.

The drama here is like that heard on middle school girls basketball teams. Ridiculous!

If you don’t like it then stop following the sport. You will easily be replaced by fanbases of other schools who are growing because now they can win. The ones whining the most are the same fans of programs who bought players for decades and enjoyed the advantage to double digit wins. Now, that players aren’t beholden to stupid transfer rules and can get paid elsewhere suddenly the sport is dying?

You guys want Underwood to fail - and you should because he isn’t the QB for your team. But, yet you laud your transfer guy in Burrow as a saint. Just stop with the inconsistency. I hope every QB in the nation sucks except mine. And I don’t know who my QB will even be until next June.

Parity is a good thing for a sport. And that’s NIL has brought us.

Even with professional sports you have to sign a contract. You can’t just leave whenever.

And we see Texas and Oregon will most certainly be part of the Top 5 programs moving forward the way it is.

I fricking hate it, too.

I watch every now and then but do not schedule my life around it.

If they want it to be this way, I wish they would separate for-profit sports from universities. I’d love for some schools to step up and say frick this shite. Athletics will be for students. The pro team can lease the stadium for games when we aren’t using it.

What does gambling have to do with NIL? If anything it’s worse for gamblers because there’s less continuity from season to season to project.

The transfer portal seems to be the bigger issue with NIL than anything

Not many football teams are profitable even now

What was the magic number after which it wasn’t ok to not pay the players?

There isn’t no magic number. This entire topic is head spinning. The same posters will be on the OT screaming about capitalism that hate the entire premise of NIL and want to prohibit people from making money on their own time and image… all while some dipshit associate AD is making a quarter million dollars

Very relevant

You can’t demand money if the team isn’t making money
