For someone who doesn’t follow a lot of golf, can someone explain how the f the leaderboard they use translates to scoring? They keep putting up 9s and 10s and 11s. What the hell does that mean? Why don’t they put up 3 and 4 and 5 scores like the rest of us keep score?

It's the total number of strokes they're under par for the round.

It’s their score to par for the entire tournament.

They are showing the players' score relative to par, so when they show 11, that player is 11 under par.

Numbers represent cumulative under or over par. Red for under, black for even or over. The player with the biggest red number wins.
