Mark Cuban's Role With Mavericks Not Exactly What He Expected When He Sold Majority Stake

So he just hangs around now like that annoying co-worker every business has that you simply cannot get rid of.

When Mark Cuban sold the Dallas Mavericks, there was a stated expectation that he would continue to run basketball operations "forevermore." By the time the Mavericks reached the Finals last June, it was clear that Cuban no longer was in charge the way he had anticipated with Nico Harrison reporting directly to new owner Patrick Dumont.
"It's not a whole lot different than right before I sold the team," Cuban said. "Nico was doing pretty much everything and I would give him my thoughts and my feedback — just like I do now.
Then he added: "You're right — I'm not there making day-to-day decisions. That's all Nico. That's just the way it's evolved. Honestly … is it exactly the way I expected it to be? No. But we're winning and things are going well. I'm fine with it."
Cuban hired Harrison in 2021 to replace Donnie Nelson.
"It's been up and down," Cuban said of adjusting to his new place in the Mavericks' hierarchy. "I've had moments of both — times where I was like, 'OK, this is what we need to do, but I'm not the boss.' And then there have been other times where I'm like: 'I'm glad I'm not the boss.' "
He added: "The only time I feel any regret is when the NBA pisses me off. Maybe it would be different if we were losing and things weren't going well, but things are going well. It's nothing specific to the Mavs. I can't go into NBA meetings anymore and give them shite for being petty."

I don't understand. This was a billion dollar deal, whatever his role was going to be was not spelled out?

It seems like Mark Cuban should just go eat a bag of dicks.

This dude really thought he could sell a majority stake in his team and still run it like it was fully his.
How did he even succeed in business again?

lol
a hustler came on the shark show and got 500K from Mark, and 500K total from rest of sharks.
hustler took the cash and lived like a king for a yearish, pissing it all away. company guy had and sold stake in, was considered a scam, product did not work and was closed to sales, and were forced to admit it was a scam.

The irony of Cuban selling majority stake in the Mavs is he sold them to the Adelson Family(Casino empire) who are one of the biggest Trump doners. They gave millions to Trump.

Same guy who said about the NFL 10 years ago that pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered. Guy is a tool. Good riddance.

He's even admitted "I got lucky" and swindled Yahoo in the crazy early Tech boom.
Now he's basically unhinged.... Maybe ridiculous money does that to you when you retire at 40.
