Guy must be really rustled by this thread

Brady is a great quarterback, one of the best. Just not the best of all time.

As we've seen when backups come in (Garafolo and Brissett I believe), the Pats still win. He's great, but the beneficiary of the brilliant mind and system (and cheating tendencies) of likely the greatest coach in NFL history.

I do like to joke though about when Brady will catch a break in life. Michigan educated, stunningly handsome, model wife, rich beyond anyone's dreams, cute kids, flush with Super Bowl rings...poor guy.

There is no such thing as individual work in football, can we be clear about that? You can always spin these things to fit whatever you want. Difference in weapons, difference in offensive line, defense changing game flows, etc...

There is no such thing as judging a quarterback independently because he doesn't perform independently
If this is the case, then wouldn't be literally impossible to rank players with any remote confidence?

And I think Rodgers playoff passer rating is lower than his regular season passer rating (though I may have missed if these number include reg season).

Isn't Brady's significantly lower in the playoffs than regular season?

Brady goes from 97.2 to 89.0

Manning goes from 96.5 to 87.4

Brees goes from 96.3 to 100.7

Rodgers goes from 104.2 to 99.4

But that one poster wanted to downplay defense and just randomly say it's because Brady plays well in big games. Welp, looking at Brees and Rodgers, there goes that theory.

Those are about how I remembered them.

You have no idea how much I want Bill to stick around with the Pats after Brady retires. I'll legitimately be upset.

I like Brady a lot. As a player and person. And the Pats are one of my favorite teams to watch. I don't root against them AT ALL.

But I honestly don't think Brady is the best QB ever and don't think he's all that close to as good as people think he is. And I don't think he's as responsible for their success as people think he is.

Before I get yelled at, I think he's VERY VERY VERY good. Like easily top 6 good.

I want nothing more in life to watch a decade of Pats football post Brady(WITH BILL). I could not be more interested/curious.

It pretty much is at the top.

Who is better? Julio or AJ? There are hundreds of those arguments and you can go all fricking day with them. Sure it's fun and I enjoy it (I have over 30000 posts on this fricking board), but yeah often times it is literally impossible.

Because, what your defense gives up in points matters. What they give up in yards, not so much.

Total defense is shite

points are more meaningful than yards, IMO.
