What were people saying about Cam Newton through 11 games last season?

What has he done to make someone think otherwise? He's playing so many years beyond his age. If the Redskins get into the playoffs he'd be in my top 5 MVP discussion for sure. That's not really saying too much because I feel like its Peyton's to lose at this point

I think RG3 should definitely be in the conversation for MVP. To say his number 1 WR has been out most of the year, he has carried his team. At this point the only person I would vote for ahead of RG3 is Peyton.

I think Luck just for the fact that his organization didn't have to give up what the Redskins did for Griffin.

Saying that, Griffin has probably had a little better of a season imo, but the Colts are in a position to get a lot better with draft picks and such.

Perfect fit for each organization IMO

this is the correct answer.

however, i do think RGIII has a chance to be "better" IF he can stay healthy. he throws an unreal deep ball, is very fast, and is very smart.

RGIII is way better and more intelligent than Cam, and Vick for that matter.

RG3 has a world class arm to go with world class speed. An accurate cannon

what does that even mean?

Right now, they're about even.

In the end, Luck will probably be better. I think these days Running QBs tend to get too beat up to be effective in the passing game after long.

Please, don't. RG3s passing stats are so much better than Newton's rookie year it's laughable to even compare them. Griffin is a very good QB who happens to be a world class athlete. He's not a running QB and would still be a solid QB if he was an average running threat.

he doesn't have to be a running QB to be successful, it is just an extra weapon

RGIII is not a running QB.

Arm strength has nothing to do with bombs down te field. Every nfl QB can chuck it 60 yards, it's about velocity and fitting it into really tight windows

Luck's arm >> RGIII

However

RGiii is the better player right now by a mike while luck has a better supporting cast.

FWIW pmanning has managed to perhaps be the best QB ever with an "above average arm"

2 of the Best arms in the league are Vick and Henne so arm strength is overrated. Plus, Jawalrus might have the best arm I've ever seen and he blew.

I don't think the Rams got enough. Not at all.

Not worth it to them. I think even tho they had Bradford they should have just taken Griffin 3.

Are you saying RGIII cant do that? He has a greater velocity on the ball than Luck does

No he obviously can or he wouldn't have been drafted so highly, but luck looks like he can put more velocity on the ball. What does it matter? Vick can put more on it than anyone and nobody is about to say he is better than Brady, brees or manning...or anyone

It was one of those trades that is doomed to be unequal for one of the teams. If RG3 turns out to be a franchise QB, then the Rams didn't get enough. If RG3 gets hurt and never plays to the same level, then the Skins gave away way too much.
