And RGIII has 6. I'm not knocking luck. I think they'll both be really good or great, neither busts. But saying "luck is the type of QB to win SBs and RGIII is not" is fricking dumb especially when so far RGIII is the better player and significantly so.

Luck has been much better than his numbers.

he also has 5 rushing TDs btw.

I am pretty sure this is outdated, but after Luck's 400+ yard game some stats came out comparing the two.

Redskins WR's had the most yards after the catch.

Andrew Luck threw the ball the furthest in the air on an average attempt in the league.

Also, Luck has a farther yards per completion right now.

For me, the biggest thing is just watching the two players. Luck is mind-blowingly good. His control of the offense, the decisions he makes, and the throws and risks he takes are just awesome to watch from a rookie. You can just see he is going to be great.

Completion percentage is completion percentage. If you're throwing it 28 times a game it really doesn't make a difference if you're making 40.

Sure.

It's like Tyson Chandler leading the NBA in FG% right now (.662%). The dude shoots 6 times a game and he averages 10 points.

Chris Bosh shoots 56%, shooting 13 times a game and scores 20ppg.

I mean, Chandler is better, right?

Im not even saying RG3 isn't good. He is very talented. All I am saying is, going forward, he is going to have to adapt and change his game later down the line (as soon as this year). Cam Newton has a similar style and hasn't adapted. But but but RG3 is so smart he's nothing like Cam etc etc. Well, let's see.

I'm with you. Rg3 just hasn't impressed me as much as Luck has despite the numbers.

So the nba is the same as the NFL, lol.

And it's not only percentage. RGIII has more TDs, higher YPA, better everything.

What about Tyson chandler shoots six times a game and scores more points than Chris bosh shooting 13 times a game? What about Chris Bosh playing with better players than Tyson chandler, but Tyson chandler has better stats despite fewer attempts and playing on a less talented team. I can play this game too. Would chandler be the better player in this scenario?

Any way you dice the stats, RGIII comes out ahead of luck right now.

It's a percentage which shows the success rate compared to attempts.

Skins- 5-11 last season, 5-6 this season

Colts- 2-14 last season, 7-4 this season

People act like Robert Griffin is on some shite team and Luck is on some great team

Griffin is on a shite team. Are you kidding me? If the Skins had a secondary and a pass rush they might be 7-4 with a much tougher schedule than the ColTs. Who have the Colts beaten? Go look at who the Skins have beat. They've been without Garcon almost half the season and are missing their best player on defense and another integral part on the dline. RG3 doesn't have a Wayne to throw to.

Really bringing the stats.

You've stretched to the nba and now last seasons results. Redskins had seasoned veterans at QB and the colts had Curtis painter. Plus I'm pretty sure losing manning for the year is pretty demoralizing.

Show me a stat that where luck is better than griffin. Just one standard FOOTBALL statistic.

Alex Smith is 5th in passer rating

I guess you guys dont realize passer rating is calculated using com %, yards, TDs, INTs. Of course the comp% and INTs are nice when you attempt the 24th most passes in the NFL. The TDs are nice, yes.

16th in yards
14th in TDs

4th in comp %
2nd in INTs

I guess attempting 305 passes pays off in the all mighty passer rating.

ETA- I've never said Luck had better stats than Griffin

Since you asked, though, Luck has the 4th best QBR in the NFL, behind Brady, Manning, and Ryan. RG3 is 5th.

He's also a seasoned vet who plays on the team with the best defense and a top rushing attack. Alex smith doesn't win games. RGIII, a rookie, does

Not exactly standard. It's like 3 years old and ESPN, a joke, is the only entity that uses it.

Alex Smith is a game manager. RG3 is a game breaker. Alex Smith also has 100 less attempts than almost every QB. You're really stretching here.

RGIII should only be talked about when it comes to ROY.

Just using the "Passing" category on pro-football-reference.com. I am not determining the worth of the stats; I am just listing the standard ones, according to an unbiased source.

Luck is greater than RG3 in:

QB Record
Completions
Attempts
Yards
Yards per Completion
Yards per Game
QBR (which I think is dumb because it includes clutch)
Yards lost due to sacks
Sack percentage
Fourth quarter comebacks
Game winning drives
