RGIII is nothing like Vick. He has accuracy that Vick couldnt dream of, so i dont get why he get thrown the Vick label in this

Luck is the one that has had accuracy troubles of late

RGIII throws the best deep ball in the NFL. He's got something like 7 or 8 plays of 65+ yards through the air.

FWIW, he is 7/20 on passes 21+ yards past the LOS. Just 1/12 on throws 31+ yards past the LOS. Not that teams are chucking the ball down the field, but the Skins don't do it a whole lot (fewer than just about every other team). I wouldn't claim he throws the best deep ball after just 20 attempts in his career.

He runs it 9 times a game. That's a running QB.

ETA: Obviously not primarily a runner but crap...that's alot of running.

Oh I must be a racist. It's to show that arm strength is way overrated, Jesus I even said RGIII is the better player despite playing with significantly less offensive talent

So instead of nine pass plays that would be incomplete, intercepted or a QB sack he runs...

Not a running qb

Probably luck squeeze in balls between defenders to his receivers. Luck puts more velocity on the ball. This has nothing to do with how far you can throw it.

he is a passer that can run if need be like steve young.

Cam,Vick, VY etc are running qb's

That's true but the point I was replying to is that he DOES run a good bit. Hell more than Vick did in ATL. He isn't primarily a running QB but he's taking more hits by running.

I like to think of a running QB as one who needs his legs to compensate for deficiencies in his passin game

Sigh.. Just a year ago Newton was the 2nd coming

omg he's not just a runner look at his stats!!!

Donovan McNabb was once going to be the GOAT. Vick, McNair etc. none could ever win the big game.

Griffin is 11 games into his career. He is 24th in the NFL in pass attempts. No shite, he's going to be efficient. 16th in yards, 14th in TDs. Like I said, people crowned Newton last year. Pull up the old threads

You can compare his rookie numbers to Cam's when the season is over.

Until then, someone call me when a "running qb" QB wins a SB.

Newton displayed a big arm and raw ability but never anything like that back shoulder throw RGIII made to Santana moss in the end zone on thanksgiving

I was not implying anything about race, i just dont get howhes gets stuck with the Vick comparison and Luck gets the Brady/Manning because you perceive Luck to be more accurate when in fact Luck has throw atleast 3 passes that were completely overthrown and picked off (Two for TDs) the past 3 weeks

I never argued that arm strength was the end all be all or that chunking a ball down the field was all that arm strength entailed, I just complimented RGIII on his deep ball passing ability and for his dead on accuracy on the rollout TD in the redzone versus the cowboys last week

1/12 on throws 31+ yards past the line of scrimmage?

Oh lawd you're making shite up. He had 2 40+ in the Eagles game alone. Educate yourself.

One throw?

Yes, that was a great pass. RG3 has looked good, I'm not saying he hasn't.

Andrew Luck type QBs win Super Bowls. RG3s are fun to watch play.

And Newton connected with Steve Smith on a bunch of great throws last year fwiw. Many against the Saints

This is frustrating. I'm not comparing anyone to Vick. I'm using him to display how overrated arm strength is in regards to ANDREW LUCK. Luck has the better arm but is not the better QB. Where did you get that I perceive Luck to be more accurate? At no point did I bring up accuracy. I only wanted to comment on what scouts look at in terms of arm strength and that is velocity because everyone, for some reason, thinks they judge it on how far you can throw the ball. Bottom line is guys like luck can make throws most other QBs cannot but they are too few and far between to really matter.

No, an example of the types of throws he has made all season. I do not pretend to know who will be the better QB in the end, but RG3 isn't just raw ability. He has some polish that cam didn't have last year when he was lighting it up.

This is fricking stupid. I am curious to hear your reasoning behind this statement
