Louisiana high school basketball playoffs
Ponchatoula girls are unreal good this year. Have beaten 6 of the top 15 and beat Anchorage Christian this past week who was nationally ranked. Will be a shame if they don't win it all.

Also CO, how are the semi finals going to work? Are they going to place the teams by region? Example, if Ponchy makes it to semi's are they automatically playing in Hammond?

were you in zachary monday night

I’m sure some coaches would love that.

My HS has won an insane number of CC titles as well as multiple track titles and an insane number of district crowns in both sports.

One HS in the district tried to get our 4x400 relay team DQed once after a third team knocked the baton from their hand because that opposing team was tired of getting its shite pushed in every year.

West Monroe was up 20 in the 3rd. Then it became the ref show. 3 WM starters with 4 fouls QUICKLY. Over 45 fouls called and 31 seed Thibodaux comes back to win 66-64

From what I read, a police officer was shot and killed at the Carver/Easton game.

Long story short. Someone refused to wear a mask. The officer on derail escorts him out. The guy shoots the officer in the chest and kills him.

Jesuit beat the Bears 53 to 45.

Completely outplayed CHS for 3 quarters. Bears didn't give up, but the Blue Jay's were not allowing for outside shots and the inside shots weren't falling.

Walker Wildcats make it back to Lake Charles for fourth straight year but this time without Cook and Thomas. Quite a feat for coach Schiro.

That was definitely a 4 seed versus 5 seed game.

Didn't think it was possible,,.but Jesuit's students were even bigger assholes (in a Cameron Crazies way) than Catholic's.

I'm an original Eastsider, graduated from Ellender in 95. We won district for the first time when I was a Sophmore and went on to win 11 straight.

My Jr. Year we played Glen Oaks in the QFs when they had Lester Earl at their place. They had 3 players over 6-6 and our tallest was Low Down who barely seen the court at the 6'3. We had Orlando Butler, Kenny Maryland, Nykee Johnson, Tevis Craft (5-6, RIP) and Darrick Ross as our best true starters. We were down 3 with about 2 seconds left, Kenny hit a 3 from the 3 second line to send it to OT and we ended up losing by 1 in OT. They were were ranked no. 4 in the Country at that time. Dale Brown and Ric Pitino were at the game. The next night LSU blew a 41 point lead to Kentucky at home.

I was really saddened to lose Coach Dixon. He was a great coach mentor and father figure to those girls man. Was always very cordial to me. Won like 4 or 5 titles state titles too.
