Essendon Bombers vs Fremantle Dockers. Essendon is a storied club that has fallen on hard times, maybe the Redskins of the AFL, and Fremantle are the Chargers of the league.

Like football, there are a shitload of rules but here are the basics:

Kick the ball thru the middle posts without touching anybody or the post is a goal = 6 points

Any other ball that goes thru any of the posts is 1 point (its called a behind). If it hits one of the outside posts its out of bounds.

2 ways to pass the ball: punch it (handball) or kick it.

Catching a kick that has gone at least 15 meters and hasn't touched anybody gives you a free kick (called a mark). Getting fouled is also a free kick.

Ball that goes out of bounds on the fly is a turnover. Otherwise if the ball goes out of bounds the umpire tosses it in over his head from the sidelines.

If a player has the ball and gets tackled without legally passing the ball, it's a turnover (called holding the ball) provided he has taken a couple of steps or completed a football move first.
