why isn’t the kicker considered offsides when his plant foot crosses the line before he kicks the ball?

Game meant little to Detroit as its unlikely that PHI losses either of their last two games.

In the replay I saw only 70 went to the refs. I didn’t see 68. Could be wrong, of course.
68 was already there with another Lion talking to the ref. 70 came running over late.

Whether he reported or not, i believe it was an illegal formation
If 70 and 68 reported then it was an illegal formation because 70 was covered by the WR but if only 68, the guy that caught the pass, reported then the formation was legal because he was uncovered.
My guess is that 70 came in and tried to report 68 as eligible but the refs thought he was talking about himself.

The final replay of the first 2pt conversion CLEARLY shows Detroit #58 and #68 talking to the head referee and #70 walking up to them at the end. The referee moves away while #70 is running to him.
I would love an explanation from the NFL

Exactly. 68 clearly said something to the official before the play.
I’m not really sure what he could have possibly been doing other than reporting as eligible. The official just missed it.

Not knocking Ceedee here but that’s ignoring the fumble into the end zone and two drops in a row.
He was nervous with Pearson 88 in the house.

They’re talking about it right now on the postgame show.

So did Skipper 70 but the head ref went away. Aikman calling it out.

They were very much alive for the 2. Not anymore

First time in my life I was hoping the lion would convert. Don’t let McCarthy off the hook with his dumb stuff.

You sure that was 68 I think that was another lineman . Because they said 68 was the one already on the line of scrimmage at that time

Just showed Goff telling Decker to go report to the official.
They fricked this up big time.

The refs screwed this one big time. Watching SVP now and even Troy and Buck are now agreeing.

That was terrible coaching decision. You take the pat there. I hope the lions lose the super bowl over that
Posted on 12/30/23 at 10:33 pm to ArmyHogs
Any chance the NFL has a mic’d up of that situation?
