Not even close to accurate with “school choice”. Public and private don’t compete on the same level. Private schools can accept anyone they want and just as important they can deny anyone they want. Public takes everyone within their district lines and no one else.

Brackets just dropped. Looks like 24 for Select across the board and 28 for non-select across the board.

Most of the Baton Rouge Select Schools get kids from outside their attendance zones.

Well the attendance zone for the public schools is all of EBR parish

Same thing in Lafayette and Orleans

I’m surprised Uhigh didn’t opt to play up. Lafayette Christian did.

Public takes everyone within their district lines and no one else.

This is where you are wrong? The old use a fake address has been alive and well for a long time and public schools have taken advantage of it for a long time.

Yes and then Johnny Fake Address takes young Braxtons starting spot and unhappy mom and dad report them to the LHSAA.

So shitty for a school like South Lafourche to petition to stay in a lower class (4A) only to then be thrown right back in the mix with the 5A schools for the playoffs.

And to do this during a season is just bush league. Not sure if there's a worse high school athletic association in the country than the LHSAA.

Something that is getting overlooked in today's decision there are several schools playing in one Division in Football and playing in a higher Division in Basketball/Baseball. Each sport has an evenly divided 4 division split.

It's definitely more balanced I'll give them that.

They didn’t have the opportunity. They didn’t know they were going to be in DIII until today. LC declared up under the old system.
