Not even close to accurate with “school choice”. Public and private don’t compete on the same level. Private schools can accept anyone they want and just as important they can deny anyone they want. Public takes everyone within their district lines and no one else.

How in the frick does that make anything I said inaccurate? School choice is still the way to go.

Did they just get rid of classes?

For the playoff brackets in the impacted sports, pretty much. Classes are now just a way to build out districts with similar-sized schools for scheduling purposes.

Break it down for me. Who are the biggest winners of this change and who are the biggest losers? Pretty much—> which schools who are normally good will now have a much more difficult road or which average schools will now have a cakewalk to state?

Dumbest shite I’ve seen. Schools with 800-900 kids playing schools with over 2000. Different divisions for football, basketball and baseball/softball at the same school. Only thing dumber than the LHSAA is the New OrleansMayor.

In some ways I like this decision. Combining those smaller classes like B and C in baseball and putting the selects in Div IV has neede to be done. Schools like Claiborne Christian in West Monroe will actually have to compete for a baseball Championship. Div V has been sending maybe 8 schools total (only 2 or 3 with winning records) to the baseball playoffs for the past several years. Talk about watered down champions.

Is there any site that has the schools broken down by new classes or divisions?

Bump

LINK

The new divisions lasted a week as small schools whined and got the LHSAA to add a division in every sport except football

Now we’ll have five divisions in baseball, boys basketball, softball, and girls basketball
