Yeah was hoping to see the whole WM “show” with the big band and cheer squad
Apparently they can't afford it due to having to pay for that beautiful new stadium?

Rebels will probably be 5-5 this year. 6-4 at best.
Yeah, their district is absolutely loaded. District imbalance is always a thing but it seems pretty extreme this year.

West Monroe is a shell of what it was even 10 years ago.
I was at the game because some friends of mine came down for the game. For several years, the old WM principal, Buddy Reed, was my boss in College Station. I was brainwashed that WM was the best HS football in the nation.
I didn't see that at all last night. They were not good at all...

Ruston High skull drags Midland Legacy (TX) 38-6. Go 'Cats!

West Monroe is a shell of what it was even 10 years ago. The community and once nationally known booster club have become lazy. Now look at Ruston taking advantage of it.
Not that they’re lazy, they first got good about 35 years ago…old people die off lol

And the spoiled younger people don't care. There was some sort of a festival in downtown WM Friday night. That new female mayor couldn't careless and Shows would have put her in her place! Also this new coach isn't gonna cut it.

I said that would happen. Ruston is better than Longviee

I see that I made some West Monroe fans mad... so, I'll say it again.... they aren't good at all

I am not too crazy about the new WM mayor, she seems to be somewhat 'woke' or whatever the term is referred to now.
Anywho.
The new HC walked into the ole proverbial hornets nest.
IDK if he can return WM to elite status or not.
I think he is in a no-win situation. I look for him to bail at WM after the FB season ends.
There is tons of potential for success at WM football. The foundation has been laid.
As much as I hate to say this, there has to be a change of the leadership at the WM athletic program.
I remember the atmosphere at Rebel Stadium on Friday nights.
It was electric and there was no better place to be on a Friday night in WM .
That atmosphere is no longer there.
Love him or hate him, Coach Shows ran a tight ship at WM and took a floor mat of a program and turned it into a high school national power house.
It was a great, long run for WM football. And I was privileged to see it.

Yes, lost Diesel 2nd series. Cecilia scored 37 on St. Augustine two weeks ago. I knew when they lost him, there was no chance.
I figured Central would win by 10 or so, but I thought it would be 30 to 20 or something like that.
Central has a good chance this year to make it to at least the semi's.

From the LCA Facebook page, it seems as if the players weren't too happy. The team looks completely lost on the field. I never knew why they hired him in the first place since his record at BBHS wasn't anything to write home about.

My kids go there but they are young. What I'm hearing is that Lochard was going to fire one of the long time defensive assistants and the defense coordinator and others were going to quit if that happened so they decided to let Lochard go instead.

I love how when he was the Patterson HC, he scheduled us because he used to be our assistant, made sure it was at Patterson the first year bc he thought he had a squad, then went to Breaux Bridge before that season began…

I'll say it again coaching today at private schools is increasingly difficult and will continue to do so. Especially with the rise in charter schools and the shrinking private school demographic.

I think he attempted to fire LCA's version of Radio - who has a son playing his senior year- and it didn't go over well.
