They put it on that Texas school (who was pretty decent), and then beat De La Salle by 22 (also pretty decent)

By that same token we’ve moved from like #125 to #81. Those garbage time Hannan touchdowns hurt

It’s also Junior Owl Cheerleader night so there will be about 100 extra girls on the field and their mamas in the stands taking pictures.

Off the subject, this team played Lee High in Baton Rouge in the early 70’s. Lee had a very small press box, no way there was enough room for coaches with phones (no headsets, only phones). The coaches for Lee were sitting on top of the gym overhang which overlooked the field, in folding chairs, using walkie talkies. The place was packed. I think this was the last big time game at that stadium until they started using it again when enrollment plummeted in the 2000’s. Baton Rouge football was as big as any other city back then.

I don't really care if every part of that isn't true, that's a hell of a setting you just painted with your words.

It was Judge Parker’s desegregation plan that messed up Baton Rouge public schools. Bussing from one side of town to the other killed the neighborhood schools in the late 80’s. It is what pushed families to Ascension Parish and set Catholic High as the dominant school in the city for high school sports. Setup Parkview Baptist, and allowed Redemptorist to have a good run in football and continue in basketball. Biggest cluster frick in state education.
