Is French Settlement a new school? How long have they had football?

French Settlement has been around at least 30-40 years IIRC but has always been a class B or C school, meaning a 1A enrollment and they don’t play football in exchange for having a longer basketball season.

Karr in 9-5A is weird. Weird like having Curtis there. Neither of those really fit well anywhere.

It is still asinine to split up EBR and not allow Ascension and Livingston to play together. I guess they gave an F-U to the petition.

Is this an attempt by Ascension schools to get away from Catholic and Livingston schools to get away from Zachary? That jumped out at me.

Karr would have fit well in our district… them and John Ehret would have been a rivalry

It just doesn’t make much sense as to why EBR teams would be split up into 2 different districts. Have an EBR district, and a BR Metro district. Makes the most sense to me.

North BR and South BR?

We know, you want all the shitty teams in your district

If they want to tweak something, give the private schools 3 divisions instead of 4.

This has been going on a long time, back to when Broadmoor, McKinley and Woodlawn were garbage teams and easy wins. It’s a hell of a lot easier to get to Livingston from Ascension than it is to drive Friday rush hour traffic to Memorial

And maybe, just maybe, it’s Catholic and Zachary that want to avoid each other.

Yeah I think Catholic is scared to have to face Zachary, Scotlandville, and Central every single year. They want to have a cakewalk district

Catholic is in NBR, don’t know why they’d be included with SBR schools

The Livingston//Ascension district would instantly be the 2nd best baseball district in the state. So don’t give me the “they’re scurred” crap.

I’m not counting the Catholic School league since they’re all select.

It’s A LOT easier to get to Memorial from Scotlandville than it is from Gonzales.

I'm not sure Zachary cares about avoiding Catholic. But I said it in a weekly thread earlier and I'll say it again. I know the cur dog nation gets apoplectic when someone suggests something like this. But I've heard catholic avoids scheduling Zachary in the regular season in football now. Zachary struggles to schedule non district games as it is.

I would love to see an EBR district.

Are they playing football now? Or just outgrow Class B?

And don’t forget that Livingston and Ascension already play in the same district in other sports like soccer.

It’s just the big sports that they split EBR. and like I said, I’m sure STA and Dutchtown would rather beat Woodlawn 21-2 with their 6th best pitcher in baseball than pick up Live Oak and Walker.

It’s unbelievable the only 3A school left in NWLA is N Webster. They’re going to have a massive travel expense playing in that district.
