down year... it happens
A school that should be DI but playing down in DII because they're scared of DI shouldn't have down years.

Not sure you understand how classes/divisions currently work in the LHSAA

Yes schools have no control over their enrollment numbers

Can South Lafourche take down Tioga?
Tioga has a stellar 1-2-3 punch on the mound... Good pitching can cover a lot of holes. Tioga as an offense is not as potent as they have been in the past.
2020 was shaping up to be their best year ever (coming off the 2019 4A title), they beat Barbe and had a very potent offense.
The 3 pitchers they have were all on the state title team in 2019, two are now seniors while one is a junior.
South Lafourche could beat them because its baseball. I don't know a lot about their pitching but it should be a fun series to watch none the less.

As much as people melted over single games in round 1 after Live Oak lost, look at the brackets now:
5A: 7 of the 8 seeds are 12 or better.
4A: 1-8 all made it. The whole bracket has been chalk so far.
3A: Only top 8 team that lost was 8. So they're 1-7 and a 9.
2A: Waiting for game 3 of 4/13. If 4 wins, it's 1-8 there too.
1-5A and 2-5A dominated round 1. Now only WM and Haughton are left. And they both played 1-5A opponents. All the others lost.

the power ratings system does a fairly good job seeding teams imo

Select schools can absolutely control their enrollment numbers
and yes....they will also be playing under those 2018 numbers again next year. They arent re-doing the districts because of COVID

15 pages and we don't have any quotes from the Chalmatian-turned-Metry parents that were being thrown at SPS? I'm just messing (mostly) about the Chalmette-to-Metairie parents, but seriously what were some of the shite they were saying?

The last reclass had a 5a cutoff of 1152 co-Ed students (or 576 if all boys/girls).
Most recent LHSAA reclass.
The actual STM enrollment last go round was 971, almost 200 co-Ed students below the cutoff. They aren’t just barely short of 4a:
Actual enrollment numbers
And if the argument is that STM should move up for competitive purposes, you have to deal with the internal politics of breaking them away from their traditional rivals at Teurlings.

I’m doing preview articles on two of the quarterfinals series.
Would anyone be willing to clue me in on players to watch from Franklinton and U High?
North Vermilion and Teurlimgs Catholic are our local teams that are facing those two programs.
