5. Years ago our high school athletic association split the playoffs between essentially private and public schools.

i'll be damned... so every football playing school in plaquemines parish has won a playoff game... even promised land and delta heritage.

There is also LaQuinta, Holiday Inn Express, and Hilton Garden Inn all close to the Ike or Restoration Park. All in good areas so pick the one with the lowest rate.

We don’t have the hardware like other places do, but there’s a lot of good football in plaquemines. The coach at BC is awful right now he’s wasting a championship caliber defense with a prehistoric offense and a mediocre QB

Arch Manning and Newman literally loss to St Charles Catholic Friday night and Newman is the 1 seed and SCC the 2. Haha. Good LHSAA and the Manning name getting it done

St. Amant game will be over quick. It’s going to be hard to watch.

Tell me you have no idea how power rankings work without telling me you have no idea how power rankings work.

At least they don't have to travel 4 hours. Maybe the new restaurant will be open by then and you can pregame there.

Proud uncle checking in to say that my nephew who plays for Benton made a pick in the endzone and ran it back about 50 yards vs Parkway Friday. That was a great game.

Also, best high school halftime show ever was just watching Parkways FG Kicker practice. Dude made a 70 yarder. Wind was at his back but it was good for quite a bit more. He moved back and was about to try a 75 yarder but the ref walked up and stopped him. Not a running kickoff, just a two step. It was pretty impressive

Honestly I have not followed high school football worth much in about 10 years. The split had me completely disinterested, so God if I know what they still used compared to when I was in high school almost 20 years ago.

I know back then I cannot remember us getting a higher seed than our district champ and we played solid schedules. Both teams are from the same area and same district. It should not really be that far apart to override head to head and district champ. But I put nothing past the LHSAA ever since they ruined the sport with the split. They even managed to ruin the other sports now.

I mean did SCC not play Shaw, Lutcher, Tuerlings, De La Salle, and Vanderbilt out of district. That seems solid.

Newman played Hahnville, Belle Chasse, Pearl River, and Benton with two good lower class teams in Many and Riverside.

Seems pretty even scheduling to me from a birdseye view without digging into whatever numbers you diehards might have available to override a head-to-head win and district title between the to teams. Not that it will matter.

You are right. It won’t matter when, at the end of the day, the 8th seed, UHigh will win it all.

It’s math. Strictly math. Win = 10+ 1 point for every win that team has. If you play a larger team, 2 points per class you play up. Lose and all you get are the win total of the team that beat you.

Supposedly there are enough votes to get it back the way it used to be come January. Combined.

The only titles that count.

That comes from having gone to STM that has benefitted TREMENDOUSLY from the split.
