And then the next year we didn't let ND cross midfield in the 2nd half and picked off their qb 5 times including a pick 6, then ran the option down their throats last year in ND's backyard. Such a back and forth rivalry between these schools, can't wait, should be a great game. ND's defense is stout this year, especially that DL, very well coached. PBS doesn't have the size they normally have but this is their fastest defense ever, 2 legit lockdown cb's, one of whom is abt to be offered by Tulsa. ND qb is only a sophomore and is good, he will be a stud in a couple years.

Agreed I think this is Rummel's year. They have probably the best defense in 5A. They only need to hold Barbe to 40 points because Williams might put up 40 on Barbe by halftime. Rummel has a good balanced team and can play any kind of game Barbe can only play one way.

ECA will score points on Curtis, as their offense is very good. But, their defense is crap. Brossette had 350 yards on them, Curtis might have 500. They remind one of a Pac 10, 12 or whatever team. Curtis rolls. Other matchups should be fun. If I can get the bitter taste out of my mouth from last night and quit seeing stripes, I might go. Have a chance for field passes and all that jazz.

Barbe came back and beat WM?? I was keeping up with the thread but I quit when I saw it was 35-14 or something similar. WM must have not come out of the locker room after half time.

ND is and always will be about having a great defense.

Should be a really good game though.

WM came out after the half. They fumbled with 2:21 left. Barbe scored, kicked onside, scored, kicked onside, scored.

PBS QB was getting IV before the game Friday and STILL blew out Livonia.

Kudos to Bozeman!

Livonia

Livonia is no match for Parkview. Parkviews second team could've beaten Livonia. Still though that is impressive.

Barbe's defense is small and their offense can put their defense in bad spots

Don't underestimate Barbe's defense's ability to turn ball-control teams (West Monroe) into big-play, quick possession teams.

I really like this matchup for Rummel. The offense can actually score unlike 2009. Also the defense is smaller, quicker, and more athletic than the 09 defense.

Had WM won I wouldn't feel as confident with that matchup because WM would overpower this Rummel D.

Also going against some pretty good Qb's this season should help. They cover pretty well. I know this Barbe O is a different animal though, so it should be interesting.

I haven't seen Rummel play this year but I have a feeling they are very similar to WM in their style of play. As long as they can get one or two turnovers they will win. Barbe has an amazing offense but it should be WM and Rummel slugging it out.

In 09' ND held parkview to 2 yards of offense in the second half and it might take a similar effort this go round to win. ND's defense this year is salty. I can't wait

Parkview's offense is better than it was in 09 IMO, but the defense is not as good as it has been in the past, I think it will turn out like the 2010 Semi final game between the two teams, hard fought, but with the score being higher on both sides, with Notre Dame actually scoring this time

Truth be told, if it was a WM-Rummel matchup you would have seen the same result as in the 09 championship game. They wouldn't have matched up well AT ALL against WM. This might be Rummel's best shot to win their first title. A good defense coupled along with a good running game has me feeling good, and that's what Rummel has.

Barbe was a matchup nightmare for WM. With all that said, I am still in disbelief at what I witnessed last night. I have never seen anything like that in all my years of watching football. I am actually pulling for Rummel to take it home. I still believe defense wins championships and I think Rummel's defensive backfield will fare a little better than WM. Barbe will score at least 28 but I think Rummel puts up 35 and pulls a close one out.
