Evangel 02 is the best team ever. 01' too.

Best QB in the nation, 2-3 D-1 WRs, Hester at RB. 5-6 high D-1 defenders

Their offense was unstoppable. They'd beat this Curtis team by 2 TDs

They lost in the playoffs a week or two ago. In the one game I saw them play (against Curtis) they were ridiculously talented but they were very undisciplined and had a few flagrant fouls and fights started. You can't make a run in the playoffs with issues like that.

Don't underestimate Barbe's defense's ability to turn ball-control teams (West Monroe) into big-play, quick possession teams.

Meh, ground teams can always keep the game close and Curtis only throws because they can. If they needed to they could grind the clock, take a couple deep passes to Dupre just to keep it honest, but otherwise force the opponent to stop the run. The defense is great and can easily take advantage of any mistakes. This team may not have the super star power of other teams but every single player is a role player.

You're talking nicholls state/Tulane caliber players (Curtis) against USC/LSU/Okla/Texas caliber players (evangel)

Different talent. HS coaches don't know how to gameplan for an air attack like that. They had a good D too Curtis would have trouble against.

If there was any coaching staff in the high school game in America I would trust that could plan for one game it would be Curtis. I know they don't win every game, but after talking to a few coaches their knowledge and in depth analysis of the sport is ridiculous. They watch film most days of the week and they can tell you what percentage of the time certain plays will get called on each down in each situation so they can be one step ahead of the offense. It's not talent alone getting those W's.

i am talking about overall teams not where the players go to college.. if that was the case..

several more st aug teams would be on the list.

and neither of those evangel teams went undefeated...

Pretty sure they lost to the big Oklahoma school that year who was #1 in the nation or high up there.

They had top level talent were well coached and they had depth: it's not like they were st aug terrible comparison.

The Berlin evangel teams were prob just as good. This Curtis team couldn't beat them and I'm a Curtis homer. It's a totally different ball game when you have to gameplan for a college passing game.

00' and 01' Curtis were good no doubt. Op walker had st aug talent & coaching and they beat them. Evangel had similar talent and coaching that harnessed the talent properly & you don't think they'd be successful?

And I'm pretty sure Booty was in line to be the #1 QB In the nation had he played as a Sr

I'm not ragging on Curtis I know they are well coached. But this evangel team had 6-7 players better than anyone on this Curtis teak this year

In 4a Curtis proved to be vulnerable against star players(tristen smith, jay Lucas, the Op walker team)...well this teak had 6.

2a is extremely weak and gives a false sense of how good this team is.

also the talent level/accumulation is completely different nowadays

WM/Evangel won't ever get back to those levels in the current system

We see these arguments in CFB all the time. Oh such and such passing team will destroy the run/defense based other team etc. It almost always goes in the favor of defense and run. Plus in high school if it was all about talent Karr and St. Aug would never lose a game.

St aug hasn't had a legit talented team in 10 years before this year.

You've obviously never saw this team play. They are not inner city schools with dumb coaches. They are football factories just like Curtis & west Monroe.,

This evangel team beat WM 35-4 that year. Lol. You don't think WM can draw up a gameplan. Idiot.

They had college prospect and role players. Same type of football factory. It wasn't a top heavy team. Get a clue.

When did I say they didn't have either? You said they would beat this years Curtis team by two touchdowns. I said no way. Did I say that team didn't deserve to be ranked high in the country or that they weren't legit? Jeez man.

Someone give me a breakdown of Rummel...basically, I just want to know whether I have to watch an offensive scheme like West Monroe or not
