Yeah but those 4A Shreveport teams are bad. Evangel will destroy them.

you know what I mean......when the 4 select divisions were ironed out - the the non 5a selects wanted NO part of JC and ECA - and that included U high. the reason we have a split in the first place is because of ECA and JC being down with 1a(for 2 cycles - eca ) 2a and 3a(for one year).... the 3a and below schools have a real bad taste in their mouths

LHSAA enrollment numbers
Ahhh so they’re going to 4A so they can stay in Shreveport and never have to travel instead of heading down I-49 for 3 teams. It sucks, WM has been with those 3 the last few cycles. Football isn’t the issue. It’s the basketball/baseball/soccer trips during the middle of the week when it starts being a major hassle.

Then does it look like they are doing it over travel costs and lack of revenue for smaller sports.. if that is the case... that does not bode well

Is this factoring in X2 or before I knew it was growing and they had even added extra 8th grade classes. But even at almost 1,100 boys that is a lot.

Edit: It is after the X2 looked at Shaw and Jesuit attendance numbers and no way it is not.

So certainly there are plans on the drawing board for a fourth HS in AP, no?

I don't see why. Looking at the enrollment numbers, it looks like there are some public schools that need to be shut down. North Central with 182 kids? And that was a consolidated school.

Shaw has got to fall to 4A.

We're near 2,000... gained in every reclassification since 2004.

Wonder what district will look like. We'll probably lose EJ and Landry Walker

Shaw will probably play up, as all Catholic League schools try to play 5A even with much lower enrollment.

Pretty sure Holy Cross was at 2A enrollment post-Katrina but still played up when possible.

Figured De La Salle would've had a higher enrollment than 488 by now

God bless West Ouachita. They are headed to 5A. Penalty for sucking so bad will be to join up with Ouachita, West Monroe, and Ruston again.

I wonder if they will keep Neville on the schedule still? Bastrop too?

Hell, Pineville whipped them this year. My god they may never win another district game ever again.

Thoughts on St. Pauls going to the Catholic league or anybody else hearing anything on that front. Like you said nobody in that Northshore district should have to play St. Pauls in the last week if it means they do not get into the playoffs.

With WO going to 5A, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with 1-5A and 2-5A
Is it ASH, Byrd, Captain Shreve, Nac Central, Pineville, Southwood and Airline, Benton, Haughton, Ruston, Parkway, WM and WO
Or
Keep it the same and add Benton to 1-5A and drop Evangeline. 2-5A dropping OPHS and adding WO

If you can’t make the 5A playoffs just because of 1 regular season game, you don’t deserve to be in it. And you won’t be winning anything anyway.

I'm curious to see where the 5A cutoff will be. That will determine if Ouachita and West Ouachita flip.
