It's messed up, but it's not curtis fault. And outside of pride and bragging rights, it doesn't really affect Rummel much. 1 or 2, who cares in the grand scheme,

But I thknk I read curtis would have been 3 without the boost from playing up? Idk. That #2 team could have some beef

GhostofJackson - For the record, I am not in the crowd that thinks JC would lose. My argument is the Catholic League doesn't want them in. JC is one of the finest programs in the entire South. No way they lose in the 1st round - even w/ a down team.

I think a 3A team getting play-up points to get 1st round byes over 5A teams with a harder schedules is just crap....just like this select / non-select championship system.

The way several posters on this board make it sound, Curtis should lose in the first or second game anyway so this shouldn't be a big issue.

You've said yourself this isn't a powerhouse Curtis team. Stop hiding people "several posters" opinion on JC when you said the same thing.

Put your prediction for JC on record if you don't share the above sentiments

You've totally missed the point. I'm talking to the people who seem to be outraged that Curtis is #1. Additionally, the people who deride Curtis' schedule when they go out of their way to make it as tough as possible for themselves in the OOD games. If Curtis was allowed in the Catholic League, we wouldn't have to have this discussion. I don't mind restating what I've already said. This is the weakest Curtis team in the past 5 years if not a good bit longer. They will be challenged in the second round by CHS and will be underdogs against Rummel if they make it there. I also think Curtis plays it's best football in November/December so you should never assume they are out of it.

but the system was in place before the first game was even played, but no one complained until week 10. Oh well at that point.

bc we all assumed it was an oversight and common sense would correct it...

but apparently that's too much to ask at the LHSAA nowadays

Whoever wins the Jesuit/Rummel rematch will win the state championship.

And if it's Jesuit/JC in the Dome, expect the all-time attendance record.

I personally think CHS and Jesuit would garner the biggest crowd. Old hat for Curtis, and they dont even have as many fans as CHS does in general at their games.

Jesuit has weak crowds. You're delusional

Rummel v Curtis has been stewing for 2 decades.

Tons of trash talk between guys that grew up and played together until they went to different schools. With Rummel's recent success it has only intensified. Trust me.

No one gives a shite about Jesuit football

Two decades? Try almost five. They haven't played each other since the mid 1960s. Possibly 1964? Which would be even before I was born.

OK, if this is true then CHS vs Rummel would be this biggest draw. My only argument is CHS would bring far more to the dome then Curtis. Hell, CHS brings more to a normal game then Curtis brings to the Dome

actually the biggest draw would be probably Rummel and Jesuit...

but they play each other... either way it would be two NOLA teams

Rummel has been outnumbered by both Byrd and Wm when they played in the dome.

Byrd did not have more people that Rummel last year.

All Byrd brought was 4 or 5 buses full of students that made 1 giant section.

Curtis has no fan base. The only way a Curtis vs a Catholic school final would set an attendance record is if tons of others with no dog in the fight go. With the championships spread over two weekends that probably will lessen the chances of that happening.

yea but the Jay Roth era started in 1995 or 1996. The whole "he wont play Curtis thing" has been talked about the last 20 years. And there has been plenty of shite talking recently after Rummel has went Back to back on the Rummel side.

the game would be a huge turnout no just by alumni but people all over the city.

Nope. Closer to 16 or 17 buses of fans. That's not counting all the people who traveled separately. If Byrd didn't outnumber Rummel, it was extremely close.
