Yep if they play again they will regret that decision especially if it's a playoff game.

I hope not. I hope we don't sink to that level and take a knee like we have in the past.

Algiers population pre-Katrina was 28,000. So you are saying they lost more than 16,000 people after?

Damn. Some of you are still Soooo mad

LW had the better day. I stead of accepting that, you are going to focus on the wrongs and insignificant parts of the game after the outcome had been determined

That is what usually happens when coaches make a wrong or unpopular decision. Causes people to focus on the negative (which in this case is the last thing they saw) instead of the positive.

Saw a prep game earlier this year that had the same thing happen. Winning team was up 56-16 and got tackled on the 2 yard line with 12 seconds left and starters still in the game against a severely over-matched team. Coach had his starters rush to the line to score as the clock expired to make the score 62-16.

Instead of talking about how good of a game the winning team played all anyone was talking about (on both sides) was about the actions of the coach at the end of the game.

If you are a coach and make a decision that will be unpopular then you need to also accept the criticism that goes along with it and accept the fact that things like that can overshadow the game.

Algiers didn't really flood in Katrina... they were up and running weeks after.

Then again in NOLA it's more impressive to build a great roster bc there's more competition for kids...

I honestly didn't know that. Did the consolidation of Landry and OP Walker have anything to do with damage to the campus or just the population drop???

Landrr-Walker wa a very impressive team. Well coached and played lights out. Fun team to watch.

OPW and Landry didn't consolidate until 2013... They were all under OPSB, and after Katrina they built a nice new campus at Landry's site, and they briefly had Cyril Crutchfield as the head coach. Before Katrina OPW was 4A and Landry was 3A...decent teams, but OPW was the football school and Landry the basketball school

I don't care what their records were, Landry was tough, at least from 2000-2004

They were the most physical, fast team we played every year and that includes chalmette (y'all were good back then), Port Sulphur, and even the erath team we lost to in the playoffs.. they just NEVER had discipline or coaching

LB Landry was always tough in 80s....in football always.. they always seemed to have those one or two guys that could keep them in a game any game....

I've never been in a more physical game than VS Landry @ Behrman in '04... my good friend broke his leg that game, our RB ran for 150 & 2 TDs, and I forced two fumbles... we beat them AND made it out alive

It smelled like a snoop dogg concert on the field the whole game , that place was PACKED

Most physical game ever

saw em give an eventual state champ all they could handle in the 80s.. and lost on a very very bad call.

Even before Katrina Walker had what seemed like 8-9 guys at D1 schools every year, they have always had the talent.
