Primetime coaching a one-win D1 program to a bowl game in his second year probably wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card a decade ago.

I haven’t paid attention to baseball since Carl Crawford played in Tampa Bay. What rules changed?

- Pitcher required to face 3 batter minimum (or end of inning)
- Limited number of throws to first to hold the runner on
- Increased base size to the size of a pizza box
- Electronic communications to call pitch signals
- Do not have to throw 4 wide to intentional walk
- Banned the shift
- Ghost runner on 2nd to start in extra innings
- PITCH CLOCK!!!
- NL adopts the DH

And even more incredible, Anthony “5 Heismans” Jennings didn’t even win one of those.

Sports betting was frowned upon, bookies were taboo, LV wasn’t allowed teams because of betting influences and now the NFL is sponsored by sports betting apps and ESPN has entire segments dedicated to influence “winning bets” from their sponsored sports book.

The explosion of sports gambling.

I 100% believe it is the reason for the NFLs domination above all other sports. NBA is harder due to half arse paly and opt-outs

It’s more that they play just once a week so more people are willing to watch their teams religiously, which helps attract casual fans

And baseball is #2 because they go to the other extreme and play every day
