You’re ignoring how players are accumulating their stats and percentages as well. Who cares if a guy has a 55% fg if 90% of his field goal attempts are within 8 feet of the basket while the 43% guy is far more spread out and takes over half his shots from beyond the 3 point line while hitting 39-40% of them.

Do these same stats versus Jordan. That’s who he’s compared to

Lebron’s DBPM last year(again, narratively considered mediocre) was 1.9. Jordan only had two seasons higher than 1.9.

Jordan’s best three playoff VORP years were 2.7, 2.8, and 2.8. Lebron has had five years of 2.8+ including 3.1, 3.2, and 3.7(!).

For playoffs again; Jordan had seven 10+ BPM postseasons with a high of 14.3. Lebron’s had ten 10+ BPM postseasons with three 13+ and a high of 18.2.

there are about 10-12 players between Lebron in Kobe in the all time rankings

Its not really fair to compare them directly

You have MJ, LeBron, Kareem and then the rest

I don’t know many that argue Kobe is better than Lebron. Jordan vs Lebron and Kobe vs Curry are much more debatable.

This next season will tell me whether Curry is better than Kobe. If he puts up the same or better stats I will concede that Curry is better. I think his numbers drop without many other weapons to spread the floor.

Lebron is better than Kobe. I think that is obvious.

True.

Only one of them abruptly quit in the middle of his career and went to play minor league baseball to avoid some uncomfortable questions about gambling.

Anything to dodge the fact lebron doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as jordan and kareem, he is not even on Kobe's level

I'm not sure what this means in Kobe vs LeBron. LeBron is a better career 3 point shooter than Kobe.

I get the MJ/LeBron debate. Kobe/LeBron, LeBron destroys Kobe in every quantifiable area. Any stat from any area of the game and LeBron takes Kobe to the woodshed.

Kobe's one thing is the 5 rings to 3, and that exists because he got prime Shaq in Finals matchups vs the Pacers, Sixers and Nets. Every other category, LeBron smokes Kobe.

It boggles my mind that people keep resorting to the magic ability that can't possibly be quantified. I understand it better with MJ and LeBron because they're close statistically, so you look to a tiebreak. LeBron and Kobe isn't close.

Right. To see the gap between them quantified is cool though.

LeBron fans are starting threads to prove he is better than Kobe now instead of Jordan? How the mighty have fallen...

it's pretty simple. anyone who picks Kobe over Lebron is an irrational dickrider

But Lebron doesn’t make mean faces during games, clearly Kobe must be better, lots of mean faces.

Plus Kobe made sure every story of him dog cussing a player in practice leaked to the media, Lebron doesn’t have that level of commitment
