Kobe had three seasons with a PER of 25+. Lebron has had a PER of 25+ in 14/16 seasons.

Kobe’s highest VORP seasons were 6.0 and 6.5, during one of which he won MVP. Lebron has had a VORP of 7+ in 13/16 seasons(10.1 in Kobe’s MVP year of 6.0).

Lebron’s WS/48 last season was .179, his worst outing since he was a rookie. Kobe had eleven seasons with a WS/48 less than .179.

Lebron’s defensive box +/- was 1.9 last season, widely considered a mediocre performance. Kobe’s career high DBPM: 1.7.

Lebron’s playoff PER in Finals series losses: 27.7
Kobe’s playoff PER in Finals series wins: 23.3

Kobe ran off shaq and still got two more championships.
Le bitch has 3 total. 2 in miami and the only one that is respected is the cavs 3 seasons ago.

LOOK LEBRON IS A TOP 3 PLAYER ALL TIME, HE IS JUST AN INSUFFERABLE BITCH AND THAT IS WHY HE GETS HATE, NOT HIS PLAY.

This is the kinda shite I’m talking about, and part of the reason I started the thread. Not only did Lebron make more shots in these situations, but he did so on fewer attempts.

In the final five minutes(clutch), Kobe averaged 3.5 points on 39.3% shooting and 29.2% from deep. He also turned the ball over an average 0.3 times and held a plus-minus of 0.8.

By contrast Lebron in the clutch averages 3.7 points on 46.8% shooting and 32.5% from three. His plus-minus was also well above Kobe's at 1.46.

It's a fallacy. People were enamored with the idea of an 18 year old being crowned as the next Jordan AND he flashed the capability unlike the 50 before him that flamed out as the "Next Jordan".

When his 18-21 year old seasons didnt match Jordan's prime - they wrote LeBron off as "not clutch" and "not a good shooter" while admiring Kobe during those years because he was currently in his prime. Those thoughts never evolved. One small example: Lebron is a higher career 3pt% shooter than Kobe - funny how the argument shifts when they dont believe it then realize its true.

The good news is Lebron is still playing and trying to pull what Kobe did... Grab 3 more rings as the 2nd best player on the team.

I dont think Kobe will come back and grab that 3rd Finals MVP to match LeBron.

The funny thing is... the general perception was that Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan we would ever see. I understand that's more about emulation, body movements, shot selection, etc., but the gap between Jordan/LeBron is way smaller than the gap between LeBron/Kobe.

Jordan
Lebron (full story not finished)

LeBron completely shits on Kobe. It shouldn’t even be a debate.

Yet here we are, arguing the inarguable awaiting theunknownknight’s inevitable melt involving some weird hyperbolic ALPHA rhetoric.

Also more specifically regarding game-winning shots; Lebron shot 43.8% within 5 seconds or less in the 4th quarter or in overtime in the playoffs, while Kobe shot 24%.

Kobe beating the Celtics Big 3 is more impressive than Lebron’s biggest moment.

Better than beating a 73 win team? Draymond whatever etc but do you apply the same judgment for the prior year without Kyrie or Love?

Also, the Celtics won one title. In that series Pierce, Garnett, and Allen’s game scores were 15.6, 14.6, and 16.7 respectively, which isn’t dominant by any stretch. They were in the mix but I wouldn’t consider them a juggernaut by any means or remotely comparable to the Warriors.

If Draymond does get suspended, the Warriors won that series. Lebron just missed the playoffs, even though playing 65 games...

Explain

Remember, the Cavs still beat the warriors 3 times with Draymond playing....

Also, the Cavs lost Love for a game in gang series....

You seem so sure. Are you sure the Cavs would’ve won the year before if they had Love and Kyrie? Why does no one talk about this in the same way?

No sane person would argue that Kobe is better than LeBron.
