He wanted the Knicks so bad
Let’s be honest, Philly is the offseason champions. They don’t get the Larry for that. Their orange and blue rivals have to give it up and they won’t without a fight bringing back almost everybody.

Brunson didn’t want him

I am guessing he would have tried his hardest to sign with the Knicks if they didn't win it this year.

They might need more balls
Kalshi Hoops
@KalshiHoops
5 out of the 37 Players who touched the ball at least 68.4 times per game last regular season now play for the Sixers:
95.3 — Tyrese Maxey
70.5 — VJ Edgecombe
70.1 — LeBron James
69.4 — Joel Embiid
68.4 — Jaylen Brown
—-
Assuming they are all starters. 150 starters in NBA. 24.7% of them touch the ball this much. Of that 13.5% reside on one team. Might be some issues who gets the ball and who shoots the most. Unless they are all just gonna pass a lot.

Something will go wrong. I can’t see Joel embiid winning a championship if bron wanted to guarantee a couple titles he should have gone and mentored the spurs and used his leadership and experience qualifies to shore up the one problem that team had. They would for sure win with LeBron with okc the only threat. Now maybe they reach the finals in a week east but injuries will take them apart

JJ Reddick lived in Brooklyn when he played for the Sixers.
If I’m him, I’d rent a big mansion on the Main Line outside of Philly. Lower taxes and less than 20 minutes from Merion and Aronomink when he wants to play golf.

He miscalculated if he really believes the Sixers are his best option to win a title IMHO. And he must believe that.

No competing team wants him. Can’t run, can’t defend.

Of all the teams that he was considering that were actually interested in him as well by all accounts were the SIxers, Warriors, Minnesota, Denver, Miami and Cleveland..
You can eliminate him going to any Western Conf. team because no matter where he went they weren't getting through SAS or OKC in the next two years.
Out of the Sixers, Miami, and Cleveland the Sixers are by far the best situation imo. It's the only one of the three where he can play 6th man type minutes role, not have to be the second option and can load manage as much as he wants because they are going to be really good even without him.
They are much more likely to get through the Knicks and Miami than they are both SAS and OKC.

It could be
I really have no idea what teams would or wouldn’t have taken him

“Would have taken”
Is different from
“Wanted”
Nobody wanted him and it’s ok, he’s an old player who’s not going to fit in and can’t play the game how it’s being played right now. Phili is desperate and dumb, they do something like this every year so of course that’s where he went.
