NFL players are free to walk away from the league at any point and choose another career path. That alone makes the slavery argument invalid and idiotic.

I’m guessing it’s a poor attempt at best to validate something Curt Flood said once, too.

Yeah, that was in a different era, an era when Civil Rights was a major issue. I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest that Curt Flood’s battle had a real purpose. And you are reaching if you think this is what LeBron meant when he said ‘slave mentality’.

didn’t mention the players.

For a slave mentality to exist, someone has to be treated as such. There has to be some sort of victim. Otherwise, it’s not a slave mentality.

Now i know not to read this part of your post further.

Not like you were going to out it in proper context anyways, clearly simpleton's approach to a debate.

Possibly, but not nearly as far as the melt has taken it, and that’s my point.

"Possibly"?

Your point heretofore has been that James used "slave" in a non-chattel, non-racial context, and your duplicitous nature has led you to regard all rebuttals to that absurdity as "melting."

That's ridiculous of you.

All i mean is that i don’t necessarily disagree with that specific point by Tbird.

You mean, the point upon which the entire context of your dumbass goalkeeping rests?

What a hack you are.

I do too. And yet theyll feel the same way about their jobs and not see how it's the same situation. People get blinded by jealously over athlete's contracts.

Lebron is 100% correct.

You can’t argue with a single thing I said so you post that lady’s pictures with zero context and then say I did that to you. Once again you’re the little kid blocking out noise and saying blah blah blah.

Your whole argument is that Lebron wasn’t referring to American slavery but he most definitely was. I don’t have a problem with him having criticism of the owners but he’s wrong to use the slavery comparison.

No he’s not. Using slavery so loosely is wrong and inaccurate. If he wants to say that NFL players deserve better then say that.

Todd Gurley and without Odell Beckham Jr., without those players, those guys, there is no football. And it’s the same in the NBA

Its almost as if pro sports didn't evolve from amateur players, that people went out to see, because they represented a favorite entity or community?

Lebron is ignorant, Borderline retarded

Stadiums were packed to the rafters back in the good ole days. They cant fill them today. But the modern players are the only reason people are interested in sports.

Because that's exactly how the NFL works? A bunch of rich arse good old boys that want taxpayers to fund their stadiums and then want to fill then full of private boxes which aren't subject to revenue sharing. He couldn't be more correct.

Because it cost 5 bucks to attend a game, not 200 minimum. :eyeroll:

That’s slavery? Wow. History books didn’t teach us that.

I have always found it interesting how the majority of sports fans, who make very little money on average, side with the billionaires over the millionaires every single time.

It's like Stockholm syndrome.

It's almost 2019, gramps. The days of hoping to scrounge up two bits to catch a real humdinger at the ol' ballyard are long gone.
