He publicly requested a trade mid-season to a specific location, which in turn tanked his trade value to other teams. If you think that is the same as a player simply not signing with you as a free agent, then I don’t know what to tell to. Kawhi was never even on your team, how are you going to act like a jilted bride when you never even dated the guy?

On top of that Pelicans fans aren’t following AD around harassing him, we may talk shite on a message board, but unless he’s over here lurking it’s far from the same thing.

So the team that tampered like crazy for AD is not pleased with a player taking his time to make a decision?

To be fair, Kawhi signed with a team in the same building as the Lakers so he might be a little more in view than AD who is across the country from the Pelicans.

Once again SDV more worried about the Lakers than his own team

Lakers fans wake up and think about the Lakers
Clippers fans wake up and think about the Lakers.

Difference between a great franchise and one that has zero banners

Any fan that harasses Kawhi is a piece of shite though.

George is coming off surgery and Kawhi is a load management player now. You don't think a few unfortunate injuries are out of the realm of possibility for the clips as well?

The fact that you think Kawhi owed the Lakers anything speaks bounds about why outsiders view Lakers fans the way that they do.

Kawhi has always been a load management player. Despite going deep in the playoffs, he’s never had a season where he has played 3000 minutes combined, playoffs and regular season.

In fact, even if we exclude the 2017-2018 season where he only played 210 regular season minutes and 0 playoff minutes, he’s only averaged a combined 2577 minutes combined over those 7 seasons, despite averaging 16 playoff games per season.

To put that into perspective, Lebron has averaged 3518 minutes combined for 16 seasons, nearly 1,000 more minutes per season than Kawhi.

People complain about the Lakers getting too much coverage yet can’t stop talking about the Lakers any time there is “news”

If people wouldn’t talk about it or click on every Laker need link they wouldn’t cover the Lakers so much.

No other team gets this much attention on here (Rockets come close..)

Sadly it also means LAL have a ton of bandwagon fans who think we are owed something.

Went after KL, lost. Was what it was. Don’t feel like we were owed anything. Worth the risk. Still like the roster

Yup. He was a role player in 2012 and 2013. 2014 was the year no SA player averaged more than 30mpg the entire regular season. He had a nagging injury at the start of the 2015 season. 2016 and 2017 probably were his heaviest loads, minutes-wise, and that's still under Pop giving his players scheduled DNPs. 2018 he played 9 games while hiding in New York like a little bitch. 2019 he load managed his time with the Raps.

Kawhi was a FA and didn't owe a team. His decision to wait did hurt the Raptors and Lakers in their FA decisionmaking, but that's how it is.

I do always laugh at these threads, where people act like their favorite team (college or pro) won't turn on a player. I've seen what happens when a good Louisiana HS prospect chooses Alabama.

Yup
Which makes his representation of the Spurs handling his minutes/injuries fundamentally counter to the evidence. They were basically the team to revolutionize load management afterall.

And there was a Reddit post a couple weeks ago that showed the Raptors came to the same conclusion (tendinitis in his knee) as the Raptors, something that probably won’t get worse but will get more painful with heavier minutes.

This team already made the playoffs minus PG and Kawhi so im not worried. But across the hall should be petrified

Especially with the beasts West drafted that are going to dominate

Both teams should be optimistic, and anyone who doesn’t see that, is being ridiculous (i.e., you).

How can you be a jilted bride if you never even dated the guy?

The Pels fans are butthurt because AD was under contract with the team and effectively ended our last season before it got going. AD was a player that fans invested in, as he was on their team for 7 years.

Kawhi was a free agent and has no ties to the Lakers.

The fact that Lakers fans are as “mad” about the Kawhi situation as Pelicans fans are about the Davis situation is absurd.

If you don’t see the differences between the two scenarios, I can’t help you.

Optimistic? We are gonna win it all while the Lakers sit at home and wonder why

I wish I'd copied your post about how SGA was a top 5 PG and led y'all to the playoffs.
