Brandon Walker College Football Show-Josh Pate

Starts around 2 Hours 18 minutes.

Man… click bait I get it, but I disagree so adamantly. The grind of SEC would tear their team up imo. Also, the level of football knowledge coach wise is infinitely better than 75% of the teams they play.

They would compete in the SEC for sure. But it’s a lot easier to go 11-1/12-0 when you’re basically getting bye weeks after every big game you play.

They would drop at least 2 games in the SEC purely because they haven’t seen week over week competition like that in a very long time

Of the non-SEC teams in the initial polls, only Ohio State and maaaaybe oregon would have a sliver of a chance of winning the SEC.

Winning big time SEC games? Sure half the top 25 is capable. Winning several big SEC games? Again, plenty of teams could do that. Go through a 9 game SEC guantlet then play a top 5 SEC team again for the title game? Few, if any, non-SEC teams could actually do that.

Josh told us Alabama was going to win the Natty last year. We couldn't run the ball and were absolutely embarrassed at the end of the season last year. He doesn't know shite.

You should take a look at what Indiana is returning/upgraded via portal. If the QB from TCU works out, they could easily repeat

you should see their schedule too.

12 game schedule with only like 1.5 games they need to break a mild sweat in. That's the point...if they played an SEC schedule they wouldn't be able to coast until December.

I found this to be one of his worst takes recently. I mean it’s hard to go on air everyday or some media platform and not have one stupid idiotic take every now and them.

I like Josh Pate because he’s usually rational and has legitimate informed opinions and avoids hot takes like this. Hopefully he isn’t selling out for interactions.

2025 Indiana likely goes undefeated in the SEC no matter the schedule

They did just win the natty and went 16-0, let's not act like the SEC outside of Georgia, Bama, and Ole Miss have not been elite over the past few years

Hell even Bama has put out a couple of just alright seasons

ND finished ahead of every SEC team in FPI / Sagarin / FEI / F+ / every relevant Vegas rating / power rating last season, so it’s not like it’s an extremely outlandish statement ND would have the highest odds. It’d still be less far than a 50% chance though, of course, like every SEC team.

yes, and they were clearly the best team in the coutnry with a bunch of 24 year olds.

Doesn't mean a hill of beans as it relates to 2026.

Their WRs, OL and front 7 will all be better this year than they were last year. The secondary should be comparable. That just leaves it up to the QB, and the guy was a solid starter at TCU for 3 seasons.

Indiana didn't even need a heisman level QB to win the title last year, a game manager would have been enough with how great the rest of the team was

You guys are just ridiculous homer fans. FSU and Indiana both beat a team that played in your conference championship game yet you pretend it’s a super hard conference. And FSU beat them before they were so beat up from playing those juggernaut teams of Auburn, South Carolina, Missouri, etc.

SEC fans have now taken over the most whining fanbase - a 9 game conference schedule, boo hoo. Not one of your teams has made the Natty in 3 years and that’s when you only played 8. Most fans win then brag. You guys lose then brag.
