The current NBA is pathetic and no one cares about it.

You’re the hypocrite spouting off nonsense about players and teams you know absolutely nothing about. You don’t know anything about the players of those eras. A lot of the players you listed were outstanding defenders, some much better than anyone playing today. To say that Alvin Robertson or the like was a joke just proves how ignorant you are. Pretending to be an expert on things you didn’t witness and know nothing about is truly stupid and that’s your entire post history on the matter.

Again. The Deadball Era almost literally killed the NBA due to lack of fan interest.

Would they have those points with the D that was played during Jordan's time. These guys are bigger, but I'd say they are soft compared to the old guys. They flop so much I don't know if I'm watching Soccer or Basketball.

PER is stacked for offense

Even the creators of the system acknowledge it’s flawed for that reason.

PER incorporates a bunch of data points and advanced statistics to rate offensive efficiency, but relies mostly on steals and blocks to determine their defensive ratings. It's mostly advanced Offensive statistics combined with a small amount of standard Defensive statistics.

Jordan played in all 82 games nine times in his career, and averaged over 38 minutes/game for his entire career. He led the league in Minutes Played multiple times. He was one of the best defensive players in NBA history.

Any player that plays that many games and minutes, plus doesn’t get properly rated for his defensive efficiency, is going to be negatively impacted by a ratings system that is skewed towards the opposite.

Someone like Embiid benefits greatly from PER. He has never reached 70 games, and only averages 32 minutes in the games he does play.

MJ was 6 for 6 in NBA Finals.
Won it 3 years in a row, two times.
6x NBA Finals MVP
Won league MVP 4 of 6 years

Oh btw he played every regular season game, 82/82, for 3 years in a row during that second run 95-98. Including post season, that’s 304 games in a row.

Lebron has done that only once out of 20 years.
Jokic was close during the reg seasons, 2018-2021.

The GOAT is presently King James, followed by Michael Jordan.

No true basketball fan would argue otherwise.

Embiid > Lebron
Jokic > Lebron

The NBA makes this discussion the most interesting because the popularity of the league exploded as the game was getting very bad,

Because of one Micheal Jeffrey Jordan. The NBA should forever have him on the payroll. Probably do.

time we accept players like Anthony Davis into the GOAT debate as well as Hassan Whiteside, Durant, Chris Paul, Steph Curry, Leonard, Karl Anthony Towns, Harden, Giannis, Neil Johnston, and Luka.

Thanks for making my point? Also, where did I say he wasn’t in the Eastern conference? I didn’t list him as notable at the bottom of my post because he was a terrible defender, but thanks for reminding everyone Jordan went up against another terrible defender consistently, I guess…

Wrong… you can try to spin it any way you want, but MJ is the GOAT and I think Lebron is great.
