I mean he can't show any excitement without being a homer for the Brewers. He's awful. Why is he employed?

I think he talks a bit too much on a broadcast. How was he a homer for the Brewers? I don’t think he has any dog in the fight. They dominated the series, probably just called it for what it was.

he is terrible at all times. The whining about JM and his pitching style was final straw for me, I will just mute it anytime he is in the booth. he has become a whiny fricking boomer about things and gotten worse over time.

He was a big leaguer for 21 years, won a Cy Young, 8 time All Star, over 200 wins, injuries move him to the pen and had over 150 saves. In fact, He is the only pitcher in Major League history to record both 200 wins and 150 saves.

Not a Smoltz or Braves guy that's just a quick internet search.

You're just..wrong.

I’m guessing this is a troll, but just in case it’s not:

- Top 50 in career WAR for pitchers ever
- As someone mentioned, 200 Wins AND 150 saves.
- 24 win season in ‘96 (Cy Young award year)
- Pitched in bigs from ages 21 to 42, average 8 Ks over 9 for his entire career
- Converted BACK from closing to a SP at age 38. From ages 38-40 he posted the following:
- 44-24, 3.22 ERA, 667.1 IP, 577 Ks, 14.6 WAR, All Star at ages 38 and 40, lead the NL in wins at age 39

So yeah

He’s an angry and bitter old man. It’s too bad too because when he first got started he was very interesting and had good insight

John Smoltz is a bitch and the worst commentator in baseball. The Great Joe Davis deserves better.

That's a lie from the pits of hell

That Braves rotation of Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz was badass

I didn’t notice this for games 1 and 2
Didn’t watch games 3,4 or 5 on TV

It might have sounded like he was a brewers homer, simply because the only good things that happened were good for the brewers

But my dad told me Smoltz hates the rays
Maybe he does
