Their baseball team seems to be decent. But, football and basketball leave a lot to be desired. I watched some of their stuff that was on YouTube and it was...bad. I'm hoping they make a lot of improvements and become more competitive because Louisiana needs another small school for guys who aren't D1 caliber.

It really doesn't.
Just for baseball there is already the JUCOs BRCC, Nunez, BPCC, LSUE, and Delgado.
Below D1 at various levels are Centenary, Louisiana Christian (formerly Louisiana College), LSUA, LSUS, Loyola - NO, Xavier - NO.
That's not even mentioning that the state has more D1 schools than it needs based on population.

Louisiana Community Christian College. Based out of Lafayette. My nephew went there for basketball and left after a year. I don't think it's an actual school, maybe more like a post grad.

So Louisiana needs a school that is going to fleece parents who want to believe their kid is NCAA athlete material?

Agreed. Anything to fight off the harsh inevitably of selling life insurance, used cars, being a landscaper, or a shitty real estate agent in a dying state.

If you want to waste an hour or two, go down the John Melvin rabbit trail.
It's cringy and hilarious at the same time.
My favorite is the find and replace handbook where they forgot to remove the school's name that they stole it from.
Or the fact that the dorm is a Day's Inn and the meal card is for a donut shop and a quiznos.
