The Super Bowl location is as much about the fan experience in the host city as it is the game itself. Would you rather be on Bourbon St. in 70 degree weather or Times Square in 30 degree weather? If you say Times Square, you are lying.
Never been to Times Square so would love to go there. 30 degrees is no big deal. It is when it gets to -5 when it is a big deal. I've been to New Orleans many times and have enjoyed every visit.

I heard Siberia is nice this time of year, maybe Roger GivesGoodhead will move it there.

I think a mix of 30 degree Times Square weather mixed with activities in climate controlled areas (i.e. Convention centers, indoor arenas for fan experience) would be very enjoyable.
It's not like every single activity at a Miami super bowl or New Orleans super bowl is outside.

I don't know how I feel about this. It isn't like people hate about this during the playofffs, only the SuperBowl. Is it really an issue? Most of these guys have played in cold weather during the year, and it provides a different game.
No, it's not a big deal at all just something for people to cry about. New York will be an awesome Super Bowl location.

While we are on this topic, why did New Orleans build a dome instead of an open air stadium. Does it ever get below 40 degrees there?

If by fan you mean corporate sponsors and media then you're spot on. The last thing on the mind of the Super Bowl people is the fan.

Probably for the heat which is actually much worse than the cold when trying to watch a football game.

Have you been to Tiger Stadium for one of the earlier games in the season?

OK. I'll buy that. Still makes me sad that we would build a dome to keep the heat out. I think that might be worse than cold.

It gets really fricking hot in south louisiana.

It's retarded we have to think saying retarded is reckless and even worry abouy pc groups. Jr wasn't even referring to a person..just used a word.
And I hate the he has the right to say it but he knows consquene...note..that isn't free speech. Free sperch wasn't created for special interest groups to pressure companies into doing what they want. Companies almost always give in to those groups.
When you have consequence for speaking then freedom of speech is a farce. The vocal minority always outweighs voiceless majority.

Does it get hotter there than Miami? Just curious.

The SB is for corporate America & the 1000's of fat cats who get invited by the major corporations. The types who love cocktail parties over tailgating. The players themselves often play in bad weather. These fans will not be happy campers, and will let it be known, if they had to attend a week of festivities in weather like the NE just went thru in the past few days. And the call girls will be driven even deeper indoors.

Not only that, but the Superdome is used for a lot of other events.

I am pretty sure he means a controlled environment is the best option for a super bowl.
Posted on 1/29/13 at 12:00 pm to HeadyBrosevelt
Another reason its stupid to have it up here is the stadium is in the middle of nothing, if you want to participate in the week long festivities and they are around the stadium, it will take a while to get there, even with public transportation.
A couple of hotels close to the stadium but for the most part people will be staying in NYC

Exactly. It's not like the stroll from the quarter to the dome.
I hope there's a blizzard that shuts down public transportation when the SB is up there.

At what point will the majority become more vocal and shutup these morons?
