Lloyd Carr and Brady hoke teams seemed to play harder though vs OSU

Hoke lost 26-21 to a GREAT 2012 buckeye team on the road

Was a 2 pt conversion away from a massive upset against a GREAT 2013 OSU team

Was competitive in 2014 be a championship buckeye squad

So surely California, Texas, and Florida schools are winning titles every year, right? No chance a team in lowly South Carolina with their 57 NFL players (only 8 more than Michigan) can win a title.

Just pointing out it's an uphill climb for Michigan in their battle with Ohio St. Of course it's not impossible. But they are at a disadvantage.

MI produces fewer top players than OH, and UM has to fight with MSU for those few; as opposed to OSU having OH to itself (in terms of P5 competitors).

CA has a big #, but all 12 Pac-12 teams (plus many national brands) slice up the pie pretty good. If states like AZ, OR, and WA produced more top players, that would help the CA teams a great deal.

FL and TX have a similar thing going.

You're right about Clemson being the exception, though. But you have to remember, before Dabo, Clemson had not won 10 games since 1990. Dabo has climbed that uphill climb. The question is, can Harbaugh do it too? So far the answer is no.

And zero or maybe 1 win when his team is an underdog (think the ND game this year is the 1 win).

Better hope their talent alone can pick up the win because the coaching staff sure as hell can't get them one.

It's not as important as beating OSU. For two years Michigan has been dominated by OSU.... Not sure how to fix it though.

Hey, remember when you called me out for calling that OSU wouldn't beat the spread vs PSU but would beat it against Michigan? I hate dumb asses like you.

It's just not that. It's how you develop who you recruit. Hsrbaugh is a better fit for the NFL IMO.

I thought we'd win but I didn't anticipate that. Better talent, better scheme, better coaching.

Reminds me of Phillip Fulmer in his first 5 or 6 years but not quite as good.
