The players have to deal with the monopoly known as the NFL. I do not blame him at all. Get rid of the monopoly.

He’s doing this because owners cave. What they should do is make an example for future players and suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team.

Good for Jamaal I say. Adam Gase is a goof who the only reason he’s in coaching is because he got coffee for Nick Saban at MSU. Dude didn’t even play in high school, no wonder he has no clue how to talk to players or work a locker room, HE NEVER PLAYED THE SPORT. Plus he’s an arrogant douchebag probably to compensate for the fact he never played. Jamaal was a great Tiger and has every right to voice his opinion. The NFL is a business and he’s a grown man. I hope he gets a trade to a decent organization and gets away from that clown show known as the New York Jets.

Can’t hate him for wanting to win some rings. Arguably the best safety in the league, doesnt want his prime year to be wasted on a coach that doesn’t care like he does. This just goes to show how much he wants to win.

Gase being a jackass is nothing new. The jets have been irrelevant since the Sanchise era. I don’t blame Jamal for wanting to leave, he’s a top tier talent that wants to be in a competent team. Although, I wish that team wasn’t the cowgirls.

Love Jamal

Hate to see him use the Antonio Brown playbook.

Play out your contract and address it in Fee Agency. He will also have leverage in the last year of the existing contract to force a trade. Don’t attack them, just let them know early you won’t resign so they can work to try to get something for you with a trade to another team

Adams has been demanding to be traded since before last season.

He wanted a big contract after year 2, which was stupid because he had no leverage to force the Jets in to giving him one. He was (and still is) locked into his initial 4 year rookie contract. That, unnecessarily on his part, created animosity. Plus, no team was going to trade the necessary pieces to acquire a pro bowl player who they might only get for 2 years before he bolted in free agency.

The Jets picked up his 5th year option. They control him (contractually) for two more years. Even now teams are going to be VERY hesitant to meet the Jets (likely) big asking price for a trade to get a guy they don't know if they'll be able to sign long term. He may not like the rookie contract structure, but he should have just kept quiet (at least externally), played his first four years at a high level THEN, going into year 5 make demands for a big contract extension or threaten to hold out in his option year. That could have forced the Jets' hands. Either pay him big, or watch him leave after the season...one in which he may not even play.

Instead, he's taken the George Costanza approach for 2 years now and is essentially trying to get fired. However, the Jets don't have much incentive to trade him right now. He's still on his "cheap" rookie deal this season. Unless a team just gives them some ridiculous trade offer they can't refuse, they can just hold on to him and "eat" the relatively small cost if he wants to sit out.

He's a great player. But he's also, unnecessarily, making himself look like a potential problem to the rest of the league

I agree it could have been handled better, but at the same time, this is a pretty good way to force himself out of NY

I disagree. Every time he opens his mouth like this, he lowers his trade value, whether it be teams who don’t want to deal with an apparent malcontent or teams that think the Jets have no choice but to trade him. Nothing good is coming from him doing this, and if it were a non-LSU player, you all would be dogging him and say if he’s got a problem with Gase, he should talk to him man to man.

He’s doing what he’s doing because he’s all out of options and is being shafted by a shite organization. “But he’s making millions of dollars a year, how is he complaining, most people never make that type of money duh-duh-duh-duh.” GFY. In every other industry in this country you get paid what you bring in value and sometimes more and are protected by REAL contracts, labor laws, and possibly unions. None of this is true in the NFL. The owners look to frick you over any chance they can and you’re the only person looking out for you. Jamal should carry out his business how he best sees fit, and hopefully can showcase his ELITE talent for a winner.

Ever thought about that he wants a trade because doesn’t believe in the leadership of said coach. Hase is not a good head coach. And to be honest I think he is a terrible leader and would want out also if I was him.

So a guy who stands up against a shitty coach that tons of people dislike makes you not like him?

Have no problem with Jamal speaking out. Jets are known to be a cesspool. If they promised him a new contract and aren’t doing it then good for him for calling them out. If Jamal is injured this season, the Jets aren’t paying him a new loaded contract. He’s earned his right to call them out.

Damn, we gotta disown him. We gotta disown Ryan Clark. We already disowned Brees. Who's next? Wait till the masses find out the black LSU players are not Trump fans.
