This is business.
Jamal is no longer playing a game with buddies.
He is conducting himself as a businessman, as are the Jets. He may have more cards than they do ultimately and he's playing some.
Good for him.

Honestly, good for him. I can’t stand athletes in today’s day and age and I’m completely on board with Jamal blasting some stuck up frickhead who’s making $5,000,000 a year to walk around the building with his nose turned up. Those are the absolute worst people to work with/for

Interesting you chose the coach's side(a known dickhead) over an LSU great. I wonder why? Does the pigment of their skin have anything to do with it?

Interesting the number of athletes bitching while making millions of dollars, blame the coach, the owner, the organization. Then within ten years after retirement they are bankrupt.
Yeah its someone else's fault.

I mean there aren’t really better ways to put public pressure on your team to trade you.

I mean, he seems like a terrible coach. And Jamal is essentially stuck there with a bad team and a bad coach and apparently a bad owner.

He has a right to be pissed to no end. He should be traded. Don't forget that this all started because they floated his name around for trade talks after telling him they want him to be a Jet for life.

Yea, heaven forbid someone be upset about not getting paid what they're worth while playing on a mandated, very underpaid contract for his production.

Absolutely Adams was unwise to publicly say that (unless it was a necessary stratagem to force the trade), but it's just a mistake by a very young man. Twenty five year olds are not ready for that much responsibility. I know I wasn't.

I agree with your point as a whole in most situations. That said this situation is different. He doesn't want to be there so I would venture to guess that he doesn't care about the well-being of that organization. He's using his value and voice to get what he wants, out of the Jets organization. He feels scorned because of the contract negotiations, or lack thereof, and is opining his displeasure. Before that he was willing to stay.
Now judgement on his approach is to each his own. However, just because he's an athlete tremendously compensated doesn't mean he can't voice displeasure with his employer, particularly one he doesn't want to be employed by any longer, when he doesn't feel treated equal to his value. Ordinary, non athletes do this all the time. Difference is that a great majority of ordinary folks aren't locked into their jobs if they don't want to be. The can resign or quit and move on to different employer freely. Adams cannot. It's not apples to apples.

He wants to be fired or traded. That's the only way he can get out of Jetsville

I agree 100%. Watching LSU win it all last season was only fun because the players weren’t getting paid. I can’t stand that the bengals are willing to spoil joe burrow now with all that money. He should do it for the love of the game.

100%

He looks petty and I understand maybe wanting a new deal but going about it through social media plus tearing down the coach and owner isn’t a good look no matter how true it is. What ends up happening is other teams will wonder if he is worth the risk if in fact a team struggles at any point to have him as a cancer. They will wonder and be careful plus many may shy away. Basically he isn’t doing himself any favors right now. At all.
