The NFL will suffer but so will the players with knee injuries. Watched Marqise Lee from my jags go down and he is done for the season I expect. There was another thread started last night but this topic needs more discussion. Jalen Ramsey said it best.
JRAMSEY take on new rule

I havent seen the play, but tackling like you supposed to would have prevented and endless number of injuries and concussions. You arent going to get rid of all injuries, its a contact sport.

My problem here is as stated by Ramsey the NFL wants to change what is "Normal" to these football players who have played this game pretty much their whole lives this way. Now instead of getting the Helmet to helmet they will go low and take out knees. Some of these skill position players don't weigh 235 lbs and aren't thick with muscle so the knee injuries will triple imho.

No need for Lee to be tackled the way he was by the defender. The guy launched himself at Lee's knees.

The NFL really screwed thos up.
Not sure why that his was flagged. When you lower your shoulder to hit someone, your head goes down with it.
The NFL is putting this all on defensive players to hit moving targets but never have any contact at all with the helmet.
We Have already seen perfect form tackles get flagged this preseason.
Just like the nfl did with a catch, no one really knows what a clean tackle is anymore.

What is he supposed to do?
If he went high as Lee lowered his head, he’s flagged for helmet to helmet.
The defense can’t win. I don’t see anything wrong with the tackle anyway. Itbsucks that Lee got injured, but it’s football.
This is what Roger asked for.

You're right, he should let the WR run him over and give up another 2 to 3 yards every tackle attempt.

Let's not act like dbs haven't been tackling like that for decades.
Posted on 8/26/18 at 9:41 am to FLBooGoTigs1
The players are supposed to completely wrap up on every tackle now. If they did that, I don't see them trying to go low that often

Why can't the NFL just let grown men do their job and play football? They know the risks and get compensated very very well for playing a dangerous sport. If a player doesn't want to assume responsibility for life altering injuries then don't play the game, it's that simple.

NFL?
CFB is going ot be horrible, they were calling everything and anything they thought they saw.
CFB games are going to last 4ish hours because of these stupid reviews. And instead of just the morons on the field making these calls, the review booth is making them and buzzing down, and we wait for 5mins, to get a stupid call.
They found a new way to kill interest in football, by making it boring and taking forever to finish.

I love that everybody is blaming the NFL, when hundreds to thousands of former players keep suing the league for injuries incurred while playing and want lifetime medical coverage. The players want this to go away, sign some kind of release that absolves the NFL of responsibility. The Union could end all of this tomorrow. But broke players will still keep suing..

they should be suing their union, not the NFL

*Current football players can't tackle well. Moving forward, different guys will be recruited/drafted.

Because of the outrage that a certain group has to have to gain attention for themselves.

I guess they are trying to have a 2035 Super Bowl so they install this horrible rule, which expedites the very thing they are trying to avoid - the death of football

It’s the court system’s fault these suits continue to be entertained and sustained, if I’m a judge I’d immediately dismiss those suits from the players against the NFL on a textual/contractual basis it’s about time we start setting standards around here

you are correct. a few terrible rulings have thrown a monkey wrench into all of football

He didn't "luanch" himself. The dude was running, you know, as most football players do.
If he hits high, he's penalized for it. He went low, got penalized for it anyway and put a player out for the year.
Defensive players are now severely handicapped when it comes to tackling.
