Mike Tyson is too freaking old. Big name but just way too old. Tyson’s last fight was 19 years ago and he got his arse whooped by an average boxer.

Hate to say it but Jake Paul will knock him out and this is not due to Jake’s ability.

If you talking about his very last fight in 2005.
quote:

In the fourth round, Tyson was unexpectedly knocked out. After the fight, it was revealed that Tyson was trying to fight on one leg, having torn a ligament in his other knee in the first round. He underwent surgery for the ligament four days after the fight. His manager, Shelly Finkel, claimed that Tyson was unable to throw significant right-hand punches since he had a knee injury

Mike that cannot bob and weave is not Mike Tyson. Same type thing happened to Paq when he fought Mayweather. Paul has a puncher's chance. But as I said in my previous post, if the Mike that is in the X vidoes show up, that looks like the Mike pre Buster Douglas in how he moves and throws punches. Mike looks like he still has a lot of speed and power; more than enough to handle an amateur like Paul; I just wonder if he has the stamina.

It's just a more sophisticated form of being dishonest/a liar.
It's a new world we live in with these opportunities. It's really no different than an actor playing a part in a movie to get paid.

They're just playing a part on social media...to get paid.

57 year old Mike Tyson is not the Mike Tyson.

You cannot seriously think that those videos make him look like pre Buster Douglas Mike I watched numerous of the training videos last night and although he looks better than 99% of other 57 year old's, he's slowed down a ton. It's insane to think that he is anything even remotely close to the old Mike. That was clear 4 years ago and Jones Jr. I am assuming this fight will be 3 minute rounds which won't help Mike.

Even though he'll be in good shape, he won't have the stamina Paul will have, His punch isn't the knockout punch that you and I remember so well, and like I said before, I think most importantly, he's not going to be able to take punches like he used to. A hard arse punch to the body at 57 is a lot different than it is when you're in your 20's.

He's 57 years old. You sound like the "If Tyson had stayed with Rooney...." fanboys on boxing forums.

his fist would still have lethal power

If Tyson still has the same power behind his punches, he could and should KO Jake pretty quickly.

That is assuming this will be a real fight.

I am not buying the “Mike was hurt” as the reason he got his butt kicked in 2005. Mike lost by KO to an average boxer in 2004 too. He clearly was a shell of his former self 19 years ago and did the smart thing and retired. Boxing is the worst sport to compete in what you start to lose your skills. Look at Roy Jones. How many times did he get knocked out by average boxers when he was only a few years past his prime.

Tyson is going to end up like Ali. He is just too old. Jake Paul will knock him out or stop him in the later rounds.

Why on earth would you think he would still have the same power behind his punches? Mike has not been a competitive boxer for a long, long time.

No official odds yet, but DraftKings said this (one of their oddsmaker’s):

In a surprise turn, Mike Tyson is the considered the underdog in the July 20 fight against Jake Paul.

Lennox Lewis was 6'5" and wieghed 245.

Paul is 6'2 and weighs 205.

If this is a legit boxing match where the winner gets 80% and the loser gets 20%...Mike Tyson even at 58 year old destroys him.

but they are doing more for boxing than anybody else.

This says a lot more about the state of Boxing than it does about the Paul brothers.

LINK

Go watch the 1st round and you tell me Danny Williams beats Mike Tyson if Tyson doesn’t blow his knee out with 30 seconds left in Round One.

quote:

Tyson, however, had injured his left knee - by tearing a ligament - which would impair his movement and ability to throw punches for the rest of the fight. He underwent surgery for the injury a few days later.[6]

It's going to be fake. And a letdown.

But the truth is in a real boxing match, tyson could do whatever he wanted to him, & would hurt him bad, real bad. jake paul couldn't hurt him if he tried.

yall are crazy if you think a 57 year old tyson is going to beat a young guy with jakes size and power thats been training for years

Are you part of Jake Paul’s PR team? I see people parrot the “size” and “power” thing all over YouTube and Twitter while he’s a 6’ 190 pound average kid who swings in slow motion. If you watch his matches objectively it looks like a guy who can’t fight teeing off on someone who can’t punch back. His fights are absolutely fixed, he knocked down Anderson Silva without touching him

Tyson is going to be paid to take part in the act like all the others, and he’ll suddenly go from being a complete psycho to the most timid boxer in history the second he steps in the ring with Jake Paul. It’s so lame

Have y'all seen the contract for this "fight"?

Paul can wear headgear. Tyson cant. Jake isnt blood testing. Mike is. Jake can also tag his brother in and they both can fight him. Jesus Christ. This is a mockery.
