Jaguars' Jalen Ramsey on Patriots' Rob Gronkowski: 'I don't think Gronk's good'

The latest target of Jalen Ramsey's, well, honesty? The New England Patriots.

In his most recently published, wide-ranging and unfiltered interview, the Jacksonville Jaguars' all-pro corner took some shots at the NFL's premier franchise and, among others, Rob Gronkowski, widely regarded as the league's top tight end.

"I don't think Gronk's good," Ramsey told ESPN, before a slight hedge. "Let me say — I don't think Gronk is as great as people think he is."

Gronkowski had one catch for 21 yards against the Jaguars in last season's AFC Championship Game before leaving with a concussion. Ramsey guarded him at times and opined the perennial Pro Bowler contributed "literally nothing."

"Any time Gronk has been matched up with a corner, he's had a very bad game," Ramsey said, "and that corner has had a very good game."

Of course, the Patriots wound up winning, overcoming a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit long after Gronkowski's departure. But that only stirs more of Ramsey's bile as he contends the officials were biased.

"It was clear as day they wanted (the Patriots) to win," he said.

Whether that's true or not, there's not debating that former New England receiver Danny Amendola scored two touchdowns in the final period to vanquish Jacksonville, surely making him worthy of Ramsey's respect, right?

"He just got a brand new contract, and he is terrible," Ramsey said of Amendola, who signed with Miami during free agency. "People think he's so great. No, he's not. Tom (Brady) made him look good. Tom could take me as a receiver and I'd be a first-team all-pro."
