This is such a tired trope that always gets used that isn’t true anymore. Popular athletes are all under constant media surveillance now no matter where they play. They invented this thing called social media and the internet that allows this, he’s not going to face any extra scrutiny just because he’s in NY

I understand that NY eating him alive might be a bit dramatic but this is not true at all. Your off the field life is without a doubt under more eyes in New York than somewhere like Kansas City or Green Bay

I'm still pissed that Whittingham/Utah didn't offer him a scholorship. His parents are both Utah alums and he desperately wanted an offer. Instead Utah went all in on this Cali QB (Jack Tuttle). Tuttle and his father wouldn't sign unless Whit agreed not to sign another QB. Tuttle shows up on campus thinking he could start - although Utah had a returning starter - and he winds up 3rd on the depth chart. He's such a pussy that Tuttle (I'm sure it was his father) pulls his son out of the program with the season not even over. He transferred to Indiana and he's still not the starter.
No one knew what Zach Wilson would become, but the book on him was he was just really skinny, he has everything else you wanted in a QB. Harsin/Boise State had him committed until the last week when BYU offered. Harsin has a great track record with choosing QB's.

You aren't following me, which might be my fault, but the New York media puts local players under more scrutiny than most other cities. Obviously there are isolated exceptions but as a whole, players in New York get more attention (especially on negative issues) than most franchises.

I think he has a shorter leash when it comes to poor performance or off the field issues than most starting QB's due to the New York media. He had to apologize for not wearing a mask at a private dinner in a closed bar at one point

People are saying NYC is going to eat him alive as if he has never traveled or had experience with big cities. His uncle is the CEO of a major airline; I don't think that will be an issue for him.
