This is bad, but in the NIL and Portal era, can be remedied much more quickly than in the past.
They should easily be able to have a top 3 portal class with all the money they have saved now.

Big 10 with a terrible Penn State. How much of a joke is that conference if that happens?
Lol. This isn’t going to kill them forever.
And the league still has solid foundations with tOSU, Michigan, Oregon, USC, Washington, Iowa. Indiana is building a solid program with Cignetti. They’re not going to be 5-7 next year.
Illinois is strong. Nebraska is trash, but they’ll pony up big money just to try to get to a Music City bowl. Wisconsin in a down cycle, but they’ll pony have solid recent history.

Indiana is a poser.
The only way Indiana is close this weekend is if OSU wants to hold back.

Yeah, WVU got 2 of their best recruits. Both top 120 overall national rank. Nice

Think if they wanted him they’d have him though. Maybe after Debor says no they’ll pivot that way

Holy shite. They really are going full Nebraska. Pretty sure we picked up Bill Callahan after the Raiders canned his arse.

Nebraska's fall from the top was inevitable because of the changing landscape of college football. They were great when college football was mostly a ground and pound game. They could sign a bunch of local corn-fed linemen and juice them up, the completement them with backs/running QBs from California, Texas, and (to some degree) the south. That formula worked with that style of play. Then offense changed and the SEC schools (and Texas) made it a bigger emphasis to keep their best players in the region.
For Nebraska to be great again it would take a Texas Tech like donor commitment to bring a bunch of great players there and overcome the relative isolated locale.

You’re starting to see the Tomlin time over in Pittsburgh story. I wonder if this is some signaling that he might be available. It allows both Tomlin and Penn State to save face, and I actually think he’d be a great hire there.
Absolutely nothing about Tomlin says he'd be interested in dealing with modern college football. Also if he leaves the Steelers he can walk into many NFL jobs. Penn St isn't even a surefire top 10 college job.

Indiana would need to keep this level to salvage it. If they fall back into their typical ways, we’re looking at such a terrible league.
If PSU is shite from here on out it doesnt change a ton. The B1G is a conference where half the teams are very bad and the other half are good teams. It causes big schedule imbalance where you get teams like Indiana last year or Michigan this year who have more wins than they should have
At the top, they are recruiting on par with the SEC: They have 8 top 30 classes (5 top 15), SEC has 10 top 30 (6 top 15). The difference is only two teams in the SEC are having shite recruiting classes, while the B1G has six teams with shite classes
